I use the 23 quart presto canner. I am a newby to canning this year. It is so easy!! I cannot believe it ! I have been canning everything except meat so far. "Thats coming soon" , my husband happens to be off work at the moment and we are shopping in my basement. Canning was the best thing I started doing. Good luck !! (The Amish canning cookbook, by George V ) is the book I bought . Very helpful.

Do put the word out to people in your community that you are looking for canning supplies. We have received so many wonderful things that people no longer use that they were happy to send to a good home.

Groceries are getting outrageously ridiculous and inflation is still going up! I could not believe when I went and picked up a tub of butter the other day it’s just a country crock spreadable butter, yes the canola oil version and not the best for you, but the tub was a family size tub and it was nearly 8 dollars! I about lost my mind when I saw that price. Great book that you bought, I just bought that on audible‘s today, being that I’m blind I have to listen to a lot of my titles verbally and I just bought the book I was gonna be starting to read that tonight as well! We can’t do a garden where I’m at however, that’s not gonna stop us we’re going to do a container garden and I know you’ve done those in the past as well we’re just looking to get tomatoes, green peppers, onions, I’m gonna try our luck and potatoes as well and hoping that we can get some green beans this will be our first garden ever super excited to start it next year

You should/could look into dehydrating also. I dehydrate CANNED pineapple, apples, kiwi, strawberries, CANNED & FROZEN vegetables (good in soups), mushrooms, mini bell peppers, onions. Not yelling with my caps that is to empathize that both canned & frozen work amazingly. Adding peppers, mushrooms, & onions you dehydrated yourself is kinda amazing feeling. Also my husband likes to use the dried mushrooms as a "chip". Also helps keep waste down due to if peppers are getting a bit too soft toss in the dehydrator.

I have the same electric pressure canner that Beckie has. It's amazing and so easy. Canning is easy after you do it a few times.
RoseRed homestead does canning video using the same canner. It's so much easier than stove top canner. I love grocery hauls.

Might call your local county's department of agriculture… Ours has classes occasionally on canning and food preservation.. They also mail out " how to " pamphlets and recipes…
