Just wanted to leave a tip, for a quick way to blanch the basil…. you can actually do it in the same salted water as the pasta. Just don't leave it in there for long… it's supposed to be dipped/submerged in the water for a few moments to wilt them ever so slightly…. but not make them limp like boiled spinach. Also, you'd be working in a window of time, before the pasta itself gets enough time to release it's starch into the water. I recommend tying the basil together at the stems with some twine, or just use tongs to hold them in place as you dunk them. You can also use a stainless steel spider strainer/skimmer to collect the basil, which I also recommend, so it'll let the water drain out from the basil much faster.

I didn't even make it to watch the other two because they were so f**** annoying when the first guy cooked especially the girl bugging about the damn pasta and talking and distracting him the whole time. Can you just shut the f**** and let him cook? I will never watch this again.

My 10-min pasta is a bastard's carbonara. I use thick-cut bacon, roughly chopped garlic, pre-grated parmesan, two eggs, pepper and 225g of cheap spagetti.
First boil the water and add the pasta. While the noodles boil (8-9 minutes for me), mix two beaten eggs with black pepper and enough parmesan to make a thick, speckled paste.
Cook the bacon on medium until deep brown but not very crispy. When the bacon reaches the desired color, turn off the heat and throw in the garlic. The residual heat of the pan and the bacon grease will be enough to cook the garlic. Use tongs or a spider to transfer the cooked pasta to the bacon pan. The noodles and the water that clings to them should sizzle, wait for this to subside. Pour the cheese and egg mixture on the noodles and mix vigorously with the tongs. A small splash of pasta water may be needed to add heat and starch to establish the sauce. Salt to taste.

Due to Italians being very testy when it comes to cuisine and perceived heresies, I keep some form of defense on me when I cook this usually a CZ75 pistol.
