A lot of you ask me if my recipes can be made in an air fryer, but my opinion has historically been that they’re kinda lame. Today …

With smaller servings, air fryer is a great and viable addition.

When air fryers first took off I was on team โ€œWhatโ€™s the point? I already have a convection ovenโ€. Then I got one. It def has its place and I use it quite often. I mostly use it for small items, or side dishes. Not having to heat up the oven for certain things is really nice. Also, I put my air fryer under/by the hood over my cooktop when I use it and there is no odor left in the house. Canโ€™t say the same for my big oven.
    So, yeahโ€ฆthey have a place.

The air fryer is just a very small professional oven. It hits the temperature advertised more accurate than a conventional oven, and heats up instantly. Saves a lot of time, and energy probably.

I love my Ninja Foodi Flip model enough to marry it. It replaced our old Black & Decker countertop toaster oven, takes up the same footprint when it's flipped, and preheats quickly. It gets utilized every morning for toast and I use it to make sheet pan type dinners a few times a week. I cannot believe how much I use this thing.

I don't think you really gave air fryers a fair chance. For one, deep frying and air frying will NOT produce equal results. Two, I have NO IDEA how you managed to get dry chicken or veg out of an air fryer. Third, do some more research and testing and get back to us. You will love the air fryer, maybe the Insta Fryer sucks?

An air fryer is just a convection oven. If your traditional stove/oven has that option, air fryers are totally a waste of counter and storage space. They are probably great for a college student who doesn't always want to order out.

Air fryers are great if you have kids. Fries and nuggets get super crispy. The frozen kind that is. I'm not sure why but our oven just can't crisp up french fries but the air fryer does it with ease. I don't like cleaning the thing though but we do use it regularly. To each their own!

Bryan, Is there any world in which you'd consider being more inclusive by not using ablist language like dumb and lame? I know I'm probably going to get ripped to shreds for saying this but language matters.

As someone living in a single person household, a small oven is much more energy efficient for almost any oven cooking compared to a full sized one. That's especially useful right now, living in Europe while energy costs are high.

They're basically just small convection ovens. I would've preferred something more like a toaster oven in shape, with more surface area than depth, though. And something easier to clean – I tried to bake chicken thighs once and the fat splattered up to the exposed heating element and got all burnt, would've been much less mess if it had just been a flat surface to wipe off ๐Ÿ˜’

An air fryer is simply an electric tabletop convection oven. For those of us whose oven is not convection (in my case a non-convection gas oven) they're very handy. If you have a full size convection oven, just use that. Though if you often find yourself wanting to cook multiple items simultaneously at different temperatures in your convection oven then an air fryer is more practical than installing multiple full size convection ovens in your kitchen.

Professional chef here. Air fryers are a fucking godsend. A mini convection oven on your countertop, what more could you want? No more turning on the big oven to make one little thing for myself, in a quarter of the time, using a quarter of the energy, and heating up my house a quarter the amount. I'm the type of person who tries to avoid turning their oven on during the summer, but it sucks cutting out all the dishes that require an oven; now I don't have to.

I love deep frying, but my body doesn't, and it's a lot of cleanup and maintenance, straining oil, babysitting your fryer, etc. Now I can have crispy food that's about 80% as good as the real thing deep fried thing, with half the effort, and half the diarrhea. I can pack my freezer full of homemade schnitzels, wonton wrapped goodies, whatever, pop them in the air fryer and boom, an easy snack.

For a single person the air fryer makes sense. Plus the soaring energy bills here in the UK it really works well. Plus convenience frozen foods taste really good. I also like veg done in it, I feel like the more dehydrated the sweeter it tastes especially carrots and cauliflower.

I run a fish and chip shop and I have been mostly eating keto/carnivore the last 3 or so years. I was 138kg, I am now just below 110 and heading for 99. I say to people in the store that the healthiest option I could offer them is to fry some fish and chips, throw away the fish and the chips and give them the oil to drink. So in conclusion, air fryers eliminate the only part of the meal you actually should be eating lol, the fat.

You all should consider it for saving on energy costs. I dont have to really pre heat with mine and its only heating like a square foot instead of like 5 square feet with an oven.

I would find the air fryer easier because of my chronic illness and disability. It would make my life easier but I do see that Iโ€™d have to accept less quality in some foods.

Air fryer is a good addition, won't take over my oven, but handy if cooking on the hob and just want something little cooking in the oven such as chips or garlic bread. Instead of heating up the oven I'll just use the air fryer.

Who needs two compartments? Frozen chicken patty, 350' for 12 minutes. At the 6-7 minute mark, throw in a frozen hashbrown patty. At the 1 minute left mark, throw in buttered burger buns and put a slice of cheese on the chicken patty. Let it finish running. You now have a cooked chicken patty with melted cheese on top, put your hashbrown on that, toasted buns, and you're most of the way to having a Jack'n'the'Box Chick'n'tater melt at home, cheaper, tastier too.

You didn't factor in preheating time for the oven. Health factor is a REALLY big one oh and most importantly: STOP USING NONSTICK SPRAY FOR THE AIR FRYER. A bowl and just a tiny drizzle of oil does wonders and ensure an actual coating of oil to be airfried. That's why your stuff turned out to be garbage, because you treated the air fryer like garbage right away. You went in with a bias and did no research on how to properly use that tool. You would have also found out that some things just can't be air fried (such as cheese sticks that require super fast cooking time to prevent leaking).

Brian I'm a big fan of you but I'm disappointed in the lack of quality and prep that went into this video.
