Ive been craaaaaaving collard greens since i became vegan. I tried a place in compton, i was so excited, but it tasted so dirty and werent tender at all. I love how you have you baby helping you too โค im keeping this recipe โค
Oh girl my son vegan I used my insta pot I sauteed my aromatics first onion garlic celery red chili flakes my favorite seasonings A cup of water with a veggie bouillon cube stacked my washed collard's on top of liquid some cabbage on top of that closed the lid and pressure cooked it for 35 min and walked away when it was done my family and guests killed it including the meat eaters you couldn't tell me nothing.
All I have to say I was gonna watch this video, but you said you donโt like collard greens, so I guess Iโm not gonna watch it because it probably wonโt taste good.
Found you after seeing your recipe in the Slutty vegans โeat plants b*tchโ. Iโm newly vegan & looking forward to trying out these greens! Iโm so use to using smoked turkey.
I never used baking soda. I use veggie broth, vinegar, some hot sauce, Lowrys, black pepper, onions, garlic, paprika, red bell peppers, pepper flakes, liquid smoke or smoked tempeh bacon or oven roasted jackfruit shreds and a tsp of organic sugar. And I cook for like 2 hrs
I was also late to the collard greens party. The majority of my life I hated them, but after becoming vegan a few years ago and cooking them myself I don't mind them. I definitely make sure to have them every New Years!
I love your sous chef. I've never put vinegar in my greens nor onions and garlic, but I'll try the onion and garlic next time since I love both! Thanks for sharing! Happy holidays!
After I clean mine I put them in a crock pot over night. Tender af!!
If you wash your greens, cut them and freeze them the day before cooking them, the greens will be really tender; even the stems

The babies in the background are too sweet
Tip! Do not salt your greens prior to them getting tender, salt will make them tough

I just found your channel and I am so glad! I just made your potatoe soup which is amazing! Collards are next for me!
I cook mine in only veggie broth. Fresh out of the garden collards are tender. Store bought take much longer to cook

Would u try my Japanese curry collards? ๐ I think u would like them
It can take up to 4 to 5 hours to cook collards especially with the stems.
If you freeze fresh collards overnight, then it will soften up faster when cooking…

I love collard greens…I cook them 2-3 times out of the month. They do take a couple hours to get tender.

You look so pretty!
I do Kale and Mustard!
Edit: Ps. If you want the vinegar taste without the vinegar TASTE, try banana peppers or the juice. Itโs fire. Youโre welcome.
