And so the Saturday morning baking series begins!! I think this gave me a little bit of excuse to do it more often (now if only I could give them away after!!). If you have a baking recipe you would like to see a vegan version of let me know. I will already tell you right away I have tried making a chiffon cake – in whatever form – Japanese cheese cake, Chinese swiss roll, genoise — aquafaba/molecular gastronomy-esque ingredients do not work that way, so no need to ask😋Have a lovely Saturday!
Could you make the filling with coconut butter (creamed whole coconut) and dates? Maybe that would be trying too hard on the healthy front?

Looks great! I feel you on not wanting to bake too often because you live alone and usually only want a little bit of whatever it is you make. Fortunately, I do have some people I can share some things with, but I often avoid baking for the same reason. I just signed up for your Skillshare class!

Congrats on the Skillshare gig! And I think Saturday morning bakes are a great idea; you're a great cook, but baking is how I found your channel because you were obviously a proficient baker. I know you do something else for a living, but perhaps opening a vegan Chinese bakery in London is in the cards for you? I bet people would be breaking down the doors to get your baked goods! These buns look so tempting and, of course, I have no coconut! Thanks for posting!

I can relate to your baking troubles. I absolutely love to bake, but then I end up with a ton of baked goods and no one to share them with. So I end up not baking much.
This looks incredible! I know it's probably a lost cause, but do you think I could possibly achieve that softness with gluten free flour? I'm doubting it, but wanted to double check anyway.
I miss soft bread. I developed a gluten allergy a few years ago now and, as a plant based eater, it's been… an experience. 😔
