Alex…what was the point to all the liquid beer, orange juice etc.? I'm not being sarcastic but that was just a waste. I mean it's not like you're cooking the ribs in it. Probably you would have gotten the same result using water.

This particular cut of meat, much like the brisket, is best cooked low & slow (250 degrees for 6-8 hrs), to liquefy the connective tissue (e.g., collagen). This ensures a tender, fall-off-the bone consistency. These cuts of meat are never ideal for higher temperature and quick-cook protocols. My favorite feature of the Instant Pot Ultra is the ability to set it for a specific temperature and cooking duration. Ribs/briskets would be best served by cooking/steaming in the Instant Pot Ultra for 6-8 hrs at 165 degrees, sans pressure. Then smoke or broil to your preferred bark. While I understand that your aim was to cook ribs quickly, I didn't want the specific temperature feature of this unit to be overlooked. Great video. Thank you.

Hey Alex. Great video. I've made instant pot ribs before and completely agree that they will do in a pinch but never really replace authentic smoked ribs. Hard to beat ribs in about an hour though.
