Hi, I started Keto a month ago. I am interested in changing my lifestyle. I notice that you talk about what are you doing depending on the day of the week. Where can I get that calendar or that information? Can you help me?

8 years ago I was diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis. So I had to take metothraxate. One of the side affects was oral thrush. So I had to take mycostatine, but also went to an ent doctor just to know if there are some other issues concerning my oral thrush. She then asked my if I had acid reflux. I said yes and she prescribed Nexium. I took it and it got better. BUT a few weeks later my feet were swelling so badly that my shoes didn't fit anymore. So I googled metothrexate and found out that you shouldn't take nexium when on metothrexate bc your feet might swell!!! I cut taking Nexium and the acid reflux came back worse than ever!
This all happened a few years ago. So I asked myself what is causing acid reflux. All the doctors I visited were telling me that I had too low stomach acid therefore I should take Nexium. I didn't believe them and finally went on the keto diet. Within a few weeks I got rid of acid reflux. At the moment I'm almost carnivore and I feel even better.
Yesterday I told my rheumatologist that I want to get off metothrexate.
He told me how to decrease the dose and that I should stay on keto.
So I hope it will work. I'm 62 and was diagnosed RA in 2014.

Hi Anita. I’m so happy to hear that you have beaten the acid reflux. 👏👏👏. It’s so awful. You mentioned that you could have cut the pill in half to only take 10mg. But I ask a pharmacist about this and she thought it would affect the time release aspect of the pill and didn’t recommend doing that. So in the end you did it the proper way. Love your channel. 🙂

I love these Tuesday talks Anita. I use to have a Tums bottle on my nightstand to pour them in during the night! I also love your creative cooking! Meat based has cured that (I have been 20+ years now). You have no idea how much I rely on your education. You have made me feel like this lifestyle is not all “denial”. You are such a breath of fresh air! 🥰Thank you so much!

I so relate. Years ago I had a suspicion that the acid blocker was messing up my digestion. Unable to digest anything . I used an acid neutralizer to taper off. It was hard, probably took a couple of years. I have been unable to drink acv. Even a tiny bit in the morning causes huge reflux at night. At least the blocker is gone. I eat mostly carnivore now. Small amount of cooked vegetables. Keto 1 1/2 years. I stopped losing weight about 6 months ago. Nothing I do makes a difference.

Me! You’ve helped me! I stopped using black pepper after hearing your story which has helped tremendously. Now, I’m going to try the ACV for breakthrough heartburn. Thanks!❤️

I just discovered your videos over the past weekend, and I am hooked! Your recipes are awesome, and this video really struck a chord with me, because I too have been on Omeprazole for at least 20 years, and even though I’ve heard about the vinegar drink, I am going to try again to wean off my stomach meds! Thank you so much for this video!

Just keep on pushing forward and sharing your experience! That is how change occurs. I would question everything the doctors prescribe or what the "big pharma" is selling.

Betaine HCL and ACV have been life savers for me with random acid reflux. Fortunately I have never been put on a prescription drug for acid reflux but I had an older version of stomach stapling years ago. It would keep my food at the top of my stomach for longer with the thought I would feel full faster. It made me very sick for years. Thank goodness for the proper human diet and help like this from our low carb / keto / carnivore community because I do just fine now. I am so happy you are off that medication, Anita! Being healthy feels so good.👏🏼❤️💪

Thank you for this video. I am gradually getting off of Omeprazole and I bought OTC brand recently so I could cut the 20 mg in half. But I am trying to drink the ACV everyday. Still having some bad days but certainly better than before. Thank you

I've used Braggs Apple Cider vinegar for years and it only takes a swig! When I began Keto I needed the vinegar for a week and then the heartburn was gone. I'm a new subscriber and I think you're such a kind and inspirational creator.

Thank you for sharing your acid reflux journey. I’ve been ketovore for 6 months, prior to that I was vegan for 5 years. I am a woman age 69 and immediately felt the brain fog lift when I started eating meat.
My question is what are your thoughts on homemade kombucha? I enjoy a small glass a day for the probiotics but it’s difficult finding information on whether it’s acceptable to drink because of the sugar.
    I respect your opinions.

Thanks Anita, I have some heartburn here and there. I have the Digest Keto from Enzymedica, which I use to help digest fats. I tried the acv, but I might try again with Steve's "cocktail", as it is so much cheaper. Very glad to hear you no longer suffer woth acid reflux, and I really enjoy the Tuesday Talks!

My taking a statin (Lipitor) to reduce cholesterol gave me episodes of amnesia lasting anywhere from a few minutes up to an hour per episode. It completely destroyed my math abilities. Where I could once take the price of a 6 pack of something & quickly find the price of one, I could no longer even think of the formula to use to find the answer. Perhaps review your mother's medication?

We found Steve's video too. My husband had been on Omeprisol for 15 or 20 years also. Since using the tonic for the last 2-3 months he has only take the real medication twice. We had cut the stevia out of the tonic after a few weeks.

Just following carnivore reduced my acid reflux, when I feel it I take some baking soda, a dab on my palm, gone.
Sauerkraut shouldn't be canned, kills the bacteria we're looking for. I used to buy it in bags but can't find it here. So I bought some cabbages and making my own, 🤞
I stopped pharmaceuticals years ago after watching ads with all the side effects, and saw how taking for one illness caused another, and only suppresses symptoms doesn't cure, ever. Stopped OTC after seeing a huge sharp blue crystal floating around my pillowy red blood cells on a live blood cell analysis from Tylenol.

I was on nexium twice a day 40 mg and then switched to a new drug that was better, I was on these pills for over 25 years, it was the first medication that I went off when I started Keto 18 months ago, I don’t have any issues at all now, I eat Ketovore now leaning to mostly meats and eggs. So happy that I found this way of eating!!

Anita, lots of good information. I started having stomach pain, after eating in my early 20s. Of course being a woman I was put on librium (I think that's the correct name). I refused to taste it. Reflux soon followed. Tomato sauces, coffee, tea, caffeine all make it worse. But I'm planning to try the apple cider vinegar. Which OTC medicine did you say helps you the most these days. Thanks again!

Nexium was originally created to just be prescribed for 8 weeks or so to heal lesions, it wasn't intended for long term use. Most of the long term side effects are caused by the lessening of acidity that causes poor absorption of nutrition including protein and fat – which are true for use of any antacid. I had heard for years about "the Amish remedy", an ACV-based tonic, seeing as I'm only one state away from the Pennsylvanian Amish it would be good advertising. I had embraced the counter-intuitive notion that as we age our stomach acids were weaker and we needed more acid. As I make refrigerator pickles with ACV, I just sipped my left over pickle juice as my own tonic and have been off "the purple pill" for many years. I do keep sugar-free tums around for the odd instance. Another thing that helps is to have your larger meal earlier in the day – it gives more time and activity to move the food along before you go horizontal.

I dont have acid reflux. However, I will get diarrhea daily is I eat vegetables, fruit, anything with gluten and milk. Haven't had milk in over 30 years, no gluten for 10 years.; i will be 70 in December. No medications. Shopped them 10 years ago when I was trying to figure out what could be causing me to sit on the toilet 17 times a day emptying my bowels for 30 days straight. I was 60 at that time. Anyway, trying diatomaceous earth now. I have tried it in the past and have decided to give it another shot. The reviews on this are incredible. You may ask what am I trying to accomplish? Anything that can make me feel better while I am on this earth. That is what I am looking for. As far as Apple cider vinegar; tried it and it gave me more diarrhea.

I have taken probably all of the PPIs over the past 30 years. Since being on keto, going on 4 years now, I don't need them anymore, only have occasionally reflux. I do have ACV and lemon almost daily on salad though. I also got off my IBS meds. PPI meds are in the top 10 of most prescribed, which might explain a lot of other problems people get with them.
