I have a pretty big kitchen and I love it! We have a big island and it’s been the best thing! Thanksgiving all the food sits there and everyone can walk around and my little nephews who loves still talk about the island at thanksgiving time and told their mom their island isn’t the same as my big one hahaha. Anyways- I love your ideas. Can’t wait to see it and watch the process.

A few important things that come to mind. What about a dedicated walk in pantry in the new kitchen? Instead of a laundry room (maybe expand the old one for that). Or make it a walk through Butlers pantry with counters equipped with outlets for crockpots and other small appliances like a dehydrator or freeze dryer. Remember to make entry to the pantry as close as possible to the unloading of groceries. If possible put a small desk in the pantry for yourself. Extremely important is the situation of windows, the eastern side of the house will enjoy morning sunshine. The southern exposure will make it hot all day in summer and the western side will be super hot in the evening in summers. If you are able to add a gas fireplace (close to the table) or even a corner stove, it will add amazing ambiance in the winter and a lovely place to decorate at Christmas. Remember to keep rafters to hang herbs and pots from. Some old English cottage type books will fill you with ideas. Ross Byam Shaw has good ones. Gas is super easy to get installed, seriously. They can just put a small tank beside the house and run the line. They do it daily. We had ours installed in March 2020. Gas cooks SO MUCH FASTER than electric. And if the power goes out you can still cook. Get the biggest gas stove you can. You need every burner. You will not regret it. I have old wood cabinets from the 70’s and white laminate countertops and backsplash from the 70’s and it’s so cozy. So beautiful and easy to clean. I highly recommend that color scheme. Dark counter tops are so distracting. I’ve been at my house five years snd still love my kitchen!!! All I did was a new sink and new floor, only because the others didn’t work and were ripped up. I’m so excited for your kitchen. You deserve it!!!! Tell Travis I’m jealous of those tool boxes. Wow.

I would absolutely suggest a stove faucet, I think those are so handy. You cook so much I would see you using this daily. Also a shelve that folds up and down in cabinet that holds your kitchen aid mixer. I would use mind so much more if I had this. Congratulations!!!!!

I have no idea what I'm talking about, but would it be possible to get a large propane tank on the property and send it into the kitchen to feed the stove only?

I have the same LG washer and dryer you have, they play the same little ditty – and they are the best I've ever had – 76 years old. The only thing I would change is depth of washer, but small price to pay reaching down a little farther than usual.

I'm excited about this kitchen project! It sounds very useful for your family. Why not consider another dishwasher? Dirty dishes are never ending with a family. I love the double washer/dryer, idea so why not double the other cleaning machine?

Here is a good idea for you for the wall that you currently have your freezer and refrigerators on when you are in the process of putting cabinets on that wall use wall cabinets and stack them one on top of each other I did this with basic cabinets I bought at Lowe's and it looks beautiful I painted them a solid and it looks like one big built-in cabinet. I did this floor to ceiling
