Thank you for your wonderful video. We shop at Aldi, but I often wonder whether I’m getting a better deal than Walmart. I try to remember to take photos to compare, but prices are changing every day now! You are a blessing. ❤️
PS: I was at our Aldi yesterday. It was $1.42 for a two pound box of pasta.

Just when I think I know everything, you give me more wonderful ideas and information. Your videos have done so much to soothe my anxiety about the state of things. Your sweet, encouraging voice is a most welcome in my home. I would love a video on working through my stock, keeping track of what I have put away, meal ideas, etc.

My husband and I LOVE cherries so when I saw those jars at Aldi I grabbed 3 of them. I was thrilled to find them and in glass jars to boot! A definite pantry item to stock up on for us! 😋🍒
Oh and I buy their canned fruits and veggies by the case! Their canned peaches are wonderful!

I've started using homemade yogurt with milk at a 1:1 proportion as a buttermilk substitute in baking. Previously had used almost one cup milk with 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar which sits for 10 minutes before use in baked items. I now prefer the milk and yogurt combo for fluffier pancakes.

Mary, I really do appreciate you making this video. I shop at ALDI all the time. SO MUCH I KEEP A FEW QUARTERS 💰 IN THE ASHTRAY OF THE CAR 🤣🤣🤣

They really do have really great bargains. And I don't like buying things in plastic if I can avoid it. I have taken up your advice on having a prepper pantry to help stock my regular kitchen pantry and have not been running out of things as often, so thank you very much! 🙏🍽️😀
Sometimes I will go online and look and see what Walmart has on sale compared to ALDI's for that week with my general staples that I need to stock. Well I'm always surprised with that first aisle that I walk through and find some of the specialty items that they have just like you did with the juices and the cherries. Those are always a good find. Sometimes when I'm not feeling well I will make up a small list for the folks at Instacart to pick up for me. But, I usually do my own "heavy shopping" with the help of a family member. I guess because I like finding the bargains🎉🥳🎉

My mother used to take leftover Rice-A-Roni and put it into scrambled eggs in the morning. It was used as a filler it helps stretch out the eggs and it was chicken flavored Rice-A-Roni and it tasted really really good it made the eggs fluffier and thicker and it tasted really really well. And I do that now for myself if I have chicken flavored Rice-A-Roni for supper, I always have leftovers. I take an ice cream scooper full of leftover Rice-A-Roni and put it in my preheated iron skillet and pat it out till it starts to warm up, and then I put my scrambled eggs on top of it (usually two at a time per scoop) add salt and pepper to taste and stir It up and cook as I would normal scrambled eggs. When I was cooking it for my kids they would have me add shredded cheese for them. Either cheddar cheese added on them or a four cheese Mexican blend was what they would prefer on their eggs.😋😋😋 Seeing those little packs of pasta has me wanting to make my own Rice-A-Roni without all the extra ingredients. And I can make it in small batches without any leftovers. And I can make it specifically for my own scrambled eggs 😀🍽️😋

    Edit:
My grandmother, God rest her soul, raise 10 kids during the depression. She had this little plaque that she made hanging in her kitchen and it read:

"If you leave my house hungry it's your own durn fault,!"

And it had a picture of a table full of food like a bowl of mashed potatoes, a plate of cornbread, some fried chicken, some turnip greens and a family of 7 a mother a father and five children sitting around eating and one empty place setting at the side that was always there for a friend to come and eat, according to my grandma. She painted it herself when she was 75 years old.

And she raised me on the motto:
    "Eat it up,
    Wear it out.
    Make it do,
    Or do without."

Aldi Deals are NOT clearance items. Their clearance items have a yellow tag marked with a black marker with the regular price above on a white background so it's obvious it's a reduced price. Aldi Deals are special buys that they bring to us for a limited time. They do have vinegar, and their red wine and white wine vinegars as well as apple cider vinegar are really tasty to me. The biggest problem right now in all the stores is that prices are rising so fast that it's hard for them to keep the right tag on the shelf. What might have been traditionally cheaper at Aldi might be cheaper somewhere else, but it might be because their stock hasn't been replaced yet with the higher price. It is a dizzying experience trying to keep track of food prices in today's world.

Hey Mary 👋 I do love your videos. Although I don't live in the USA I do learn a lot of very valuable information regarding food and health from good food. Can you possibly let us know your total spend on these trips to stores and how long you'd expect this food to last an adult, a week, a month? I am starting my pantry and it helps to know. Also you speak a lot of your 4 corners pantry and I completely understand if you are uncomfortable with this request, but would you consider showing us your 4 corners? I have trawled through your older videos ….if you've made some already could you link then somewhere. It would help with setting out a pantry (from my perspective anyway) as space is limited for me.
Many thanks and I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. God bless and take care from the UK 🇬🇧 🙏 Paula.

I get their white, enriched rice usually for under $5 for 10 lbs. I have to feed my dogs rice because of health problems, so I cook a large batch twice a week and then add unsalted vegetables and beans to half their commercial dog food to reduce the fats they are eating. (One of the dogs had a liver infection and could not digest fats and oils. Found out that my other dog is a breed that can have liver problems also).

I had to laugh when you said you got 2 cans of mushrooms – I buy them 2 Flats a time because I use them almost everyday. Aldi's also have a great tomato paste – it has 100 MG salt in the entire can.

The coconut chia granola….. when they first carried it was the Nature Path brand and carried for quite sometime. Then all of a sudden it was gone but they started carrying it the Simply Nature brand you have. They are the same. I had a box of the Nature Path brand at home already and purchased the Simply Nature brand and compared the two side by side and no taste difference. Thanks Mary for sharing!!! You are amazing and full of wisdom; enjoy watching you and have learned so much through the years. God bless.

FYI the term “gyped” is a derogatory term against the Roma people who were referred to as “gypsies”. They were a group that tended to stay amongst themselves and were accused by the main population of stealing. It’s considered a racist term. I know you are not like that so I thought you would want to correct that.

The packaging at Aldi, is a key to who manufacturers the item. When you see a redesigned label, probably there is a new producer, and the old one has been replaced. Just fyi.
That tip came from their customer service number.
