Excited and pre ordered 😃 we live in a HOA on a small lot… but maybe one day I’ll get to make my dream come true as well. I’ve watched you for a couple years now and it’s amazing to watch your journey.

Oh, Jessie, this brought back so many memories from my childhood when my grandmother would make all the men who were working on the crops a huge country meal at lunch aka dinner time. I can almost smell the food because it was a lot of the same things you just made. Thank you, sweet lady, for that precious memory. And yes, I yearn to get back to having a farm again. There is something so satisfying about living off the land.

Love it! I always loved when my family came together for big meals or Sunday dinners and before I moved the ladies of our church used to have bible studies for weeks on end and we always had a meal before. It was sooooo awesome. We always were around long after the bible study and the fellowship was awesome, so many great relationships were built! 🙂 Happy for you Jess and LOVE the idea! Can't wait to get your new book and yes, I too, am dreaming…..I'm turning my yard into a small garden as I lease and my landlord has been VERY patient with me lol I am hoping my dream will come true next year! It will be a long time coming. I turn 60 in February and it will be my first home. 🙂 I can't wait to hopefully see it come to fruition. I had surgery for cancer this past month and we think we got it all….hoping so and hoping God will bring good from all this. 🙂 In the meantime I'm soaking up, learning and doing all I can.

I love field peas…they taste like boiled peanuts to me. Such a sweet idea to make a meal for your employees and actually breaking bread together. Food is my love language too 😉

I do not know how you hold back tears of pure joy! We are joyful with you! Can't wait to have your new book in my hands! I love the idea of those meals together through the seasons. That truly was a southern meal! Sometime try adding fresh okra on top of the peas about the last 15 minutes. Top the serving with picalilly, so yummy! Thank you for all that you do, you are a blessing!

    Thanks Jess
I have a third year hobby garden, learning a bunch from many channels like yours.
It's my first year that I planted some Fall crops. Let's see what happens. I'm in zone 9a in California. Also, I'm looking into maybe raising a few Dorper sheep. We are on 4 acres, but only about 2 acres for my critters. I'm building up my chicken area. By the end of the year we will have at least 9 hens laying. We've had chickens since 2013. My son still has his Boer goat. Had two horses, which are my first love but not anymore. Had to say goodbye to my Arab who was my first horse and my last. I can't bare the thought of loving another horse and losing it someday. So now I'm a chicken lady with a small garden. Lol
Thanks again for all that you share, we are very greatful.
