I started fooling around with girls at 12/13. The only reason I wasn’t a teen daddy or caught any STIs was because where I live we have a comprehensive sex education that started in grade 6. Obviously we started with the basics but as we got older and more kids were going through puberty, we learned more.
We have next to no teen pregnancies and our STI transmission rate is extremely low. We had ONE pregnant girl when I was in high school over a decade ago for the 4 years I was there. The school had 2000 students.
Kids are having sex younger than their parents think. It’s important they know how to do it safely. The scare about it is so stupid.
I was in school a hundred years ago, but I recall having permission slips in 5th and only being separated for the changing bodies part. They tossed some teen spirit and maxi pads at us gals and I assume teen spirit to the boys? We were only separated for that part though because it was some ancient film on our “changing” bodies as we entered puberty 🤷🏻♀️ The comprehensive intimate one happened in middle/junior high and we were all in the same room.
If teachers wants students to learn about lgbtq in school, then why can’t teachers teach students how to avoid ped@ph!les and how to spot one? It makes more sense to teach that instead since it can protect children and avoid encountering a ped@ph!le.
