Why do we recreate meat? Family.
I have been vegan for only 5 years (45 years non vegan) my BIG family loves to get together a lot and I and my husband felt very isolated from everyone else.
Weird looks and nasty comments from the hunters especially took their toll.
So I have made it my goal to make vegan dishes so good that meat eaters will be blown away.
My meat eating son is the test taster and we work on recipes together until its as close to the real thing as I can make it.
My tofu noodle soup had one hunter in particular coming back over and over -three bowls (until I told him it was tofu) then he got this weird look on his face and he just walked away without saying a word! I took that as a compliment.
I have even turned a few family members vegan as well!

I just wanted to say a huge "thank you" to Gaz.

I was so timid about food before and watching his videos and trying his recipes has given me invaluable knowledge.
I understand flavors and textures so much better now and how to achieve them in ways I never knew about before.
Me not being afraid to mix and blend ingredients together, is all the reason for my success at home.

I an VERY PROUD of you, Gaz! I will be forever in your debt.

Keep up the good work and all the success in the world to you, my friend!

That looks fantastic! I wonder if you could make a vegan lamb recipe, (idk if you ever tried lamb at the restaurant AMIR, The background culture is Lebanese ) but they slowly roast lamb and it is so good and I was just wondering if you had any ideas for a recipe like that.

Looks awesome! I actually haven't made a recipe with seitan yet, but when I do it will definitely be one of your recipes. This year I'll be making your Mushroom Wellington. Twice! 😄 I still can't believe my family just makes vegan Christmas Dinners now, without any complaint. I feel so lucky. 🍀😊 Happy Holidays!

Thanks for sharing, and more power to you, but I must say that after 16 years of veganism and multiple top-notch seitan recipes, I've conclude that it's not worth the work. It's a fine dish, but it always has that "good enough for a vegan" vibe. I'm going with a pressed-portobello-mushroom and seasonal squash recipe that I'll serve in a wreath mold. I can serve that to non-vegans and be more confident in it.
