I love fried rice. And, I can't believe I've never had bacon fried rice like this. I've had ham fried rice, spam fried rice, roast pork fried rice. Because I've had those proteins lying around. Or, when I was a kid, my mom had those proteins lying around. But, never leftover bacon! Seems almost impossible. But, I like in this recipe. I just need to cook it up to start the process.

Fried rice with eggs is really one of the best and cheap ways to prepare a great dish. Very often you have small amounts or leftovers of food such as vegetables, mushrooms or leftover meat that can be used with. Since you are also using rice from the day before this is a dish that can only be heated on a single burner. I will look for more dishes that you prepare this way. Thanks for showing.

Price of food has gone up, the pack of thick cut bacon we buy from Costco or Superstore has gone up $3 in the past 3 months. Will definitely make this the next time I have leftover rice as I always struggle with breakfast. Your recipes are always so good. Thank you.

Flo, new subscriber here. What made me subscribe is of course your cooking segments, but more importantly your love of God. My struggle with Chinese cooking is that it is often filled with carbs. Would you consider showcasing some keto friendly recipes?

I make my fried rice with rice that has been previously frozen. The resulting texture of the rice is vastly superior. I discovered this by accident. Prior to that, every time I made fried rice with fresh rice from the cooker it turned out gummy and sticky and the grains would not separate. Previously frozen (thawed) rice breaks up without effort and the rice separates into individual grains.

Hi Flo, my comment is not about fried rice, but your roast tomato soup recipe!!! I have been following you for many months and recently bought digital copies of your cookbooks, even bought myself a multi pot cooker to replace my old pressure cooker. I live in Tasmania, Australia, and love that distance is no barrier to being able to enjoy your recipes from afar.

I learned this recipe in junior high school cooking class. The only difference is we added bell pepper as well. This is such a versatile recipe. I use cabbage, leeks, chili peppers. Whatever I have on hand.

Great recipe! I fixed it for dinner tonight. It was a big hit with my wife! Rather than using regular bacon, I used ends and pieces of bacon which costs less. The meat is more in chunks which makes it easier to leave out a bit more of the fat. We will fix this again!
