When frying, if the oil is too hot, you get brown on the outside and raw on the inside. If the oil temp is too low what you fry, especially if the batter or veg contains high moisture, will soak up a lot of oil. Try frying at 350 for better results.

Chef John (Food Wishes) did a "Breakfast Donut" recipe that, if you substituted a keto-friendly sweetener for the maple syrup, would be keto. It's made with almond flour and is baked, and it actually has a crumb.

I started Keto one month ago. I've lost 8 lbs. I was getting discouraged thinking about all the things I could never eat again. Then I started watching your channel. I went back to videos of cheating, falling off the diet, etc. They are so helpful. Then you put up great videos of Keto friendly bread and donuts and I think there are still some treats I can make to satisfy those cravings! I'm sticking to straight healthy Keto for now but I know that some yummy things are in my future. Thank you for all the great content you are putting out. I don't think I could do this without you.

OMG!! I've watched your videos over the last month and enjoyed them but never subscribed. Today I subscribed because of that precious little peanut in Emily's lap. I had a Chinese Crested hairless that looked so much like that one it brought tears to my eyes. I miss her. They are precious. Thank you for sharing yours on camera and as a side note thank you for sharing keto videos too. πŸ₯°

After watching this last night I immediately tried the donut hole recipe lol! Thought maybe it would be good as a chaffle . No it wasn’t lol! Very dense and rubbery.

But my batter turned out like a cookie dough consistency. I was able to form it with my hands and place it in the frying pan. I used home rendered tallow. They turned out fluffier. But I could have fried them longer. Fluffy but still a bit rubbery.

When I measured my pork rinds I compacted them. Did you guys measure packed or no? Maybe that’s why yours turned into cake batter consistency?

Anyway thanks for showcasing this. My daughter loved them. 😁

Allulose is not the best choice for high heat or long cooking applications because it does brown (caramelize) quickly and will appear burnt very quickly. You may have had better success putting Swerve in the batter and keeping the allulose for the outside (dipping stage).

I just whipped up a batch or the pork rind donuts holes and put them in my dash donut maker. I did not have birthday cake extract so I used some butter vanilla bakery emulsion. The turned out great but were a bit porky when hot. They were better once they cooled down.

allulose turns brown quickly so maybe mix the allulose with another sweetener. if you bake with allulose you have to cover the top half way thru or it gets very brown. like breads etc.

A thought: Allulose causes baked goods to brown quickly – and keeps browning. For baking I use a piece of foil over the top to slow browning. However, in this donut hole recipe? Maybe use Swerve instead.

I scooped the blueberry donut dough into mini muffin pans and baked them the same as the donut and iced them the same except I used lemon juice instead of extract. Also, thanks Sarah for mentioning the yoga blocks in my sauna blanket! They make it so much more comfortable!

I would have put the pork rind mixture into a zip lock bag and cut one end and drop little round balls in to the hot oil. Enjoyed the blog. Thanks love you gals! Hope you get your subscribers 😊

I had a great idea for a Keto/Carno sandwich inspired by KFC's Double Down sandwich.. which is cheese bacon and mayo sandwiched between 2 pieces of fried chicken…. swap the mayo for mustard, and grill the chicken instead. Would love to see you guys try this out…

The first ones look amazing! The second recipe needs a retry using a different sweetener. Allulose browns too quickly when frying. Y’all’s recipes are the best!!!

Pork goes very well with sweet ingredients so it's seems like a good idea to use them in this way. I have another 20 pounds to loose so I'm just eating basic but once I hit my goal I will start working recipes like these into my diet occasionally. I look forward to trying them.
