When I want more heat for myself personally, I use the saved up Chinese mustard packets. I do that with egg drop all the time.

Thank you so much for all this! Do you bring this soup back to simmer each time before you count "about 2 minutes"? I'm having a real problem with either over cooking or under cooking veggies in general and there would be a real difference If you are estimating your timing for ingredients from the time they go in the pot or from the time the soup comes back to a simmer .
