I tryed this recipe exactly like u said and the cake is not soft is a bit hard cuz of the merengue i dont think the merenge works very well

Made two cake rolls just now. The one that was baked at 350 was too dry but still rolled up. Second was baked at 350 for 17 minutes and came out perfect. No kidding absolutely perfect. Nice skin, soft flesh, spongy with small crumb.
Maybe i'm just a terrible cook but I tried this and it turned out bad..I should just stick to buying from the bakery
