The 15 beans are an excellent idea Chuck. The contents of the seasoning packet, namely hydrolyzed soy, maltodextrin is poison for me so I did not include it. The chili was delicious. Thank you!

After trying it, I've decided to make this my new chili. It is excellent! I just finished the last of it and thought I should give an update. Thanks again, Chuck.

This looks delicious! My crockpot is only 4 quarts, but I do have a 6 quart Instant Pot. If you wouldn’t mind, can you please advise how your recipe can be converted to be made in an Instant Pot? Thank you very much, your recipes are always so good, I appreciate that you share them! 🙂

I picked up a tip some where, about 15 – 20 years ago, (possibly on the bean package?), To put in half to 2/3rds of the seasonings from the packet, (and those you add, I would assume), into the pot of beans, then when the beans are done and it is time to add the tomatoes, stir in the remaining seasonings and finish cooking per recipe instructions. This brightens up the flavors that cam become dulled from a long cooking time. This also applies to the bean recipes that call for lemon. At the end of the cooking time a add in an extra squeeze of lemon juice, not much, but enough to brighten up the flavors. I wish I could recall where I learned this, but it works for any cooking times of an hour or more. I may have read it from an old slow cooker recipe book. Works nicely for home made, long simmered, spaghetti sauce, too.

You should try better than bouillon vegetable or vegan chicken broth. I really like it. You scoop out a tsp and add it to a cup of warm water
