p.s. Delicious, as always! And ingenious reason for that little lump on the side of the peeler. How did I NOT know THAT!?! I need you more than I even realize 💙

THANK YOU! People get on my nerves making puréed or creamed potatoes and calling them mashed potatoes. They’re only mashed potatoes if the potatoes are actually mashed. Anything else is not a mashed potato. Also great recipe! Reminds me of my mom’s recipe. Mine is a bit different since I add some roasted garlic and some herb infused butter (or if making plain mashed potatoes I just add some sour cream and herb infused butter).

My mom used to serve her mashed potatoes this way. On rare occasions she'd use red potatoes with the skin on always, with a lonely russet potato and build a well filled with butter, pouring her gravy after served.

Yum yum 😋. I love garlic in mine. Either put some peeled cloves in water when cooking and mash all. And when I'm making my slow roasted pumpkin and garlic soup with ginger and tumeric I always add extra garlic cloves, and squeeze in the gorgeousness in the spuds.

Maybe I'm not eating mashed potatoes (my family doesn't know how to make them properly), I'm eating potato pancakes
They're basically just boiled then ground potatoes, and after you do that, you just fry them
    They're good

    I like fried mashed potatoes.
    Garlic, all day everyday.
Also, I want to concoct a recipe which tastes like mashed potatoes. I’m thinking a mixture of parsnip, cabbage, cauliflower, a bit of turnip… the premise is something that tastes good and replaces mashed potatoes with a small fraction of the calories. Go ahead, have another serving 😊 and you can have it every day!

To me this is what l call creamed potatoes and l love them. Mashed potatoes are simply mashed and you add butter salt and pepper on your plate to taste and l love them. Potatoes are my absolute comfort food. I absolutely enjoy them anyway except for creamed with gravy on top because that to me personally is what l call slop .

You know, when he mentioned his pet peeve on peeling potatoes, I thought he was gonna grab a knife and try and peel the potato that way. You can do that, but it's so easy to slip and cut yourself. It never occurred to me that some people flick the peeler on the skin.
