22:45 It's rare that I disagree with y'all. Often y'all choose what I've already selected as your top product. But with HexClad, it's clear you're comparing it where it doesn't belong. Hexclad isn't nonstick, a hybrid nonstick. It has enough areas with nonstick coating that you need much less oil compared to an uncoated stainless steel pan. Its documentation makes clear that you should begin to season the pan before use to prepare the stainless areas and that oil is necessary for items like eggs (which are explicitly called out in the documentation). I've had my HexClad pans for over two years and they're performing beautifully and still look brand new despite use multiple times a day, nearly every day. I get incredible browning to which no traditional nonstick can compare and cleanup to which no traditional stainless steel pan can compare. Honestly, the best way to address these are like regular stainless steel pans that just happen to release far more easily and with less oil and which clean up fast and effortlessly. I just wish their advertising were a bit more honest—that egg demo HexClad uses (or at least did when I was in the market) is super misleading.
So is this the products you tested in 2022 or going into 2023? The title is a little confusing.
how about in 2023 you start using Chapters in your videos.
Additionally with the Creami, the temp of your freezer is going to impact your results
My Hexclad works great, even for eggs. I suspect they did not season the pan based on their results.
It's nice to see a return to what I loved about ATK – objective, unbiased reviews which aren't afraid to call a turkey a turkey
13:15 it’s Wire Monkey for the bread lame maker.
My mom got me the gold colored nordic ware set from costco last cheisymas and i LOVE them. We use them very heavily and they are so sturdy
You use uncoated aluminium gear and brag about it? Well done. No, seriously people aluminium poisoning is a thing. You shouldn't use those, it has been linked to Alzheimer's disease.
Love these videos!! Thanks 👏👏💜💜
😱21:00 But, Hannah, would you BUY the HexClad pan?😉
Yeah. Y’all really airballed on the creami review here.
The variable you’re searching for is starting temperature. “Frozen solid” isn’t a consistent enough measurement.
I agree with almost nothing you had to say about the Cremi besides the fact that it is loud. Mine works perfectly and handles whole frozen fruit without issue. Sounds to me like you either got a bad one your didn't follow any of the hundreds of recipes that are available for it. When it comes to ease of use, you can dump in any fruit in to the cup, top up the liquid and throw it in the freezer for 12 hours. We always keep peaches, pineapple, strawberries & bananas, or fruit-cocktail in the freezer ready to go. (If you used a deep-freeze or a commercial freezier, you only have yourself to blame.)
You're wrong. The Ninja Creami is awesome if you know how to do it. Loud it is but it's also AWESOME.
I have aluminum toxicity and can not cook with aluminum pans or use aluminum foil. Do you have any non toxic Half sheet pans worth recommending?
Wire Monkey***
I really think they did a disservice to the ninja creami. Did they use flavourings with anti freezing agents like alcohol? I NEVER had a soupy pint after a whole year of regular use.
I understand 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 but those who use the metric system may not.
I'll stick with using my round cast iron griddle for eggs, biscuits, pizza and other stuff. Sometimes I'll even pull out the wok for eggs…
My icreami machine has never made the ice cream soupy. I think it depends how cold your freezer freezes the mixture. I discovered using heavy whipping cream made too thick on the tongue. Subbed half n half for heavy cream solved the problem.
You totally used the hexclad pan wrong. It even states in the use and care to do a light coating of oil. You are suppose to treat it like a stainless steal pan hybrid. You need a slight(and I mean slight) bit of oil/butter and also heat the pan up properly. these pans cook and hold heat way better than traditional nonstick. Not only do my eggs not stick the pan is so easy to clean. When i do get a bit of charring, a light soak in dawn and water releases everything with no scrubbing. They are a bit on the heavier side but not more than traditional stainless steal. People are just not using these pans correctly at all. Yes they are slightly more work than traditional nonstick, but way easier than stainless steel. I've had mine for 6 months and still are performing like new.
Hexclad Pan FAIL! I instinctively knew it was B.S. HahahahaAHHaahahaahaAHHAAAAA…… thanks @ATK for the confirmation and validation!!
Hadn’t heard of the hex lad yet. Thanks for the heads up. Had gotten the blue diamond, against my better judgement but wanted PFAS-free, it worked great for about two months of freq use until it was quite not non-stick. I was still useable, but I moved on.
Looking for a good even tortilla press and one that makes the thicker kind well too.
I’m a private chef and I own 2 ninja creami – for what I want to do- it is amazing. Just a little planning ahead and I have fresh spun ice cream for my client.
We have an iRobot s9+ and its been fantastic.. and a great company to work with too if you happen to have any issues.
What was the discontinued Coleman Cooler model?🙏🌲
I can't believe that you recommend aluminum cookwear!
Such a biased and unfair test of Hexclad! Did they read the instructions of how to properly care and use them? Not up to ATK standards. I have a whole pan set. Was a life saver when I had to go extremely low fat for health reasons. They work amazingly well if you follow the care instructions.
I have watched a couple gear heads reviews today and standards are getting so weird. Look at this name brand, super expensive item most people can't afford! This is the best! We totally didn't get paid for this review! Follow our link to purchase. Of course we don't get any money when you use our links…🫣
I am glad I stopped my subscription. I feel like standards have really fallen over the last couple of years.
non-stick is not great, stick with cast irons and carbon steel etc. But using metal utensils on the non-stick isnt giving it a chance.
All the wok are too small compared to those used by billions of asian. Also you never see a stick out wood handle like those here. These are all wok for non Asian market…not good wok.
I love Nordic Ware pans! I've been using them for years and they truly hold up beautifully.
The bread lames..aren't they just razor blades attached to a handle?? 🤔 I can get a blade for less that $3 and do that..unless I'm missing something
Although I am very happy with another brand, absolutely buy half and quarter sheet pans. It's one of those things any cook should have!
I absolutely love ATK videos, and always search before buying any new kitchen item. Especially this series.
A very small critique was you had stored the ice scoop in the machine. This was very likely just for presentation needs, but just a gentle reminder to always store the scoop outside the machine for ice hygiene purposes! Just to assure a good example is displayed for viewers
That hexclad pan is covered in a layer of filth. I can't even see the stainless steel dots coming through on most of the pan's surface. And it's not even difficult to clean.
The Taylor & Ng wok is now over $77! Thanks for the affordable alternatives!
Do you have a 2023 best portable induction cooktop or carbon steel pan recommendation? Or does your verdict from your older videos still stand?
I’m excited to buy an olive press for my kitchen.
