I so enjoy seeing you work with what's in-house. Even hard-core preppers say we need to rotate what we have on our shelves. There's a family in Alaska that I like to watch who had a huge potluck at the change of the season where each household used what was at the bottom of the freezer or root cellar and made stuff that Chef Ramsey would admire! 😊

Great job on the pantry challenge! I think you learned a lot of what worked for you, what changes you had to make and what supplies you use the most so you can be even more prepared than what you already are to make your pantry supplies go further than 30 days. At least that’s take from your pantry challenge. I learned from what you did and even though I didn’t do the challenge, you made me more aware of what I need to evaluate in my pantry for me and my husband. I’m sharing these findings with my daughter too so she can start rethinking her family’s pantry. Thank you for taking us on your meal journey during the 30 day pantry challenge.

You did it! I semi sort of went on this journey with you. It took a little planning ahead but was easy. I even saved a bunch of money. Before I left for work, I took stuff out of the freezer to thaw. I left a note on the kitchen counter to remind me of my menu for supper (haha, you say dinner) or it reminded me of leftovers in the fridge. I also put a sticky note in my car to remind me not to stop at the grocery store (habit). All in all I only wasted about a 1/2 cup of salad greens and 1 cooked chicken quarter but these went in my bokashi bucket because I have no animals.

My husband and I live in new York. Heat bills are crazy so I use pantry items for January thru March and it is really a blessing. I could probably go longer. Love your kitchen makeover Dom! Sweet!

Hay have try make bread from Artisan baker. Make dough at night rise use next day. Makes life easy. How about vegan meals like spaghetti and sauce.. I eat it all the time or use turkey sausage. Good challenge.

If it doesn't look good my kids and grandkids won't eat it. I've messed up some meals and put in the trash and it's pizza night.
My mom use to serve canned spinach and peas(Noooo) I love fresh or frozen. There's nothing worse than eating something you don't like. Your kids are sweethearts mine would have gone to bed hungry including my husband. I love tuna casserole but no one else in this house.

We use cream of mushroom soup in our tuna and noodles. Mix and put in a baking sheet. Put crushed curly chips on top and sprinkle cheese on top too. 400 until bubbly on top!

Good job girlie! You killed this even though you were super busy. I’m exhausted and many people have said the same. I will continue into February, but not sure I’ll record, especially with getting seeds and planting underway. Glad to share in your pantry challenge journey. 😊

I don't know if the purpose of this Challenge was simply to see if you could feed your family for 4 weeks without going to the store, but one other thing it looks useful for food storage planning: how much food can you store, and how long would it last? Based on what's left, it looks like you could easily go another month. Thanks for bringing us along – it was a lot of fun!

Cool! & congrats. – now go to the store!
I'm a 1st year canner, so I was just half heartedly going to try the challenge. But then I went on a long road trip & then I tried to start up late, but I majorly flunked out. Next year!…but that does leave me with a lot of stuff I want to use up. I'll try to get rid on 1 ingredient /week. -thats my plan going forward. If a 1 month apocalypse woulda happened, we would have survived.

Hey Dom.. Finally I was able to get the 1st comment…lol.. I've been on the roll with this bread making, canning, and did a big pot of beef/deer vegetable soup.. I have it on my channel.. check it out!! Check out your email as well, good news on there for you.. so the pantry challenge is fun because, the stuff from the store is slowly gone, and in with new veggies from the garden. My whole goal is to have a home grocery store with ALL my canning, bread, and etc… for the new homestead.. I am really tired too, but we do have to rest our minds and body.. we do a lot. I am proud of you on everything you do. enjoyed the video. have a great day…
