I followed your direction and my beef pelau was amazing. My mom is 87 and from Belmont; she loved it! She has dementia and it made me feel good to give her something that enabled her to remember home and family. Thank you Chris. 🤓❤

Pelau is actually cook all over the world. I was very surprised I wonder how the dish made it's way to Trinbago. Thanks for taking the time to post. Cooked it for my wife she was amazed.

My MoMo (now cooking for the Gods) always put a giant stick of butter, then her brown sugar, and all else that the sexy Chef did. Maybe why the women of our family are a bit plump? lol Did she do it wrong? Looks like the same recipe to me…??? ITS ALL GOOOOOD…Haaaaa

    Hi Chris!
Never even heard of pelau until watching your videos but I'm determined to make it. I can't put my hand on any gungo beans, could I use kidney beans instead? Also, would a paella pan work? Cheers!

This is just what i needed to see! I was running out of ideas for dinner this week and this popped up 🙂 I love how you make these dishes so easy to understand and execute. They are just how my mom/grandmom/aunts made it when i was growing up. Big ups to you Chris!

question: why do you boil off so much liquid in the beginning, just to add it back in before you put in the rice? By the way, love the channel. I make your 20 minute curry chicken all the time, and made my own green seasoning from scratch because of you. Thanks for all the work you put in!
