That's a different way of making tamales than how my wife's family does, but that is the great thing about tamales, so many different ways to make them. As to the man at the end who commented that he didn't help make them, around our house, he who doesn't help make, gets to watch everyone else eat them and wish he would have helped! Tamales are time consuming but so worth it while spending quality time with the family.
