I had an electrolyte imbalance where I was short of potassium and magnesium. I was receiving it fluids to rebalance my electrolytes for three days. I was given potassium and magnesium supplements.

Have you had a glucose test? You drink a sugary drink in the doctor office and they check your blood sugar every 15 minutes. If not ask your doctor. I had the same symptoms as you and that’s how I was diagnosed with diabetes. Usually drops low. I see tiny sparkly stars out of both eyes get weak and almost pass out before I get something in me.

Breathing and Heart rate blood pressure was either high or low and can effect your breathing but it is secondary to what was going on. Sugar monitor is a great tool but you have to pack with you going places or as soon as you feel like that again take your sugar level. Hope you get to feeling better Cassie. It is scary.

If I was Cassie I would have called the pharmacist from the car and said will you help my husband get everything I need! Why he didn't ask someone in the Pharmacy to help him get what he needs, so that the test strips match the meter, and he would have gotten the lancets that you need. You have to use a fresh Lancet every time you test your blood, after you wipe your finger with alcohol, otherwise you could be introducing bacteria into your bloodstream, which could be catastrophic! 🙂💕

Prayers Cassie I have type one diabetes Ben a diabetic since I was a child I am 62 now. When you prick your finger do it on sides of finger tips less painful. Key tones they check with pp test. Alot of people that try and do the keto diet throw all that chemistry off. It is a very confusing disease. The best thing to do would be to find endocrinologist (diabetic speaclist) along of Dr's don't understand the disease only from what they read in a book. My prayers are with you.

Wow I can relate, mine started while I was on lawnmower. I feel like my son saved my life that day, he washed me down in ice chips. When I got home I took shower, made my way to bed where I passed out. At times I do go blind on my right side like a black shade coming down then slowly raising after a few seconds that feel like minutes . I had bell paulsy my right side froze up. I couldn't shut my eye.

I hope they checked your electrolytes. Working in the heat can make you sweat your electrolytes out of your body. I have ongoing problems with my electrolytes. I will be praying for you both.

I am diabetic I also have a insulin pump
I’ve found when it is hot and I’m cutting grass, (I have a push mower) I get sick.
I get so sweaty nauseated and dizzy . I had to call my son for help. He gets goes and buys a small box of BROWN SUGAR
Which I eat about a cup of.Brown Sugar and glucose tablets I finally stop sweating and shaking
I’ve had to suspend my pump
    So I’m giving no insulin
I have glucose tablets on hand and often I find my blood sugar in the 50’s
    I eat 3-4 glucose tablets
