That's how my dad taught me to make beans! I really like the idea of using turkey instead of pork once in awhile. The only difference between the way we cook this is that I like to add red chili flakes to "kick it up a notch."

My wife uses smoked ham hocks and no onions. And we usually have a pot of green chili to mix with the beans and use slightly burnt tortillas to scoop it up…
So good when it's cold outside.
    Great recipe!

Those look so good, AB. My wife used to make soup beans and cornbread every year in the fall. She used smoked ham hocks. I couldn't get enough. I would eat until I didn't think I would ever need to eat again. Then, I would hit them again the next day. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the video and recipe. I bought everything today but I have a quick question. Is the package of beans meant to be a one pound or two pound package??? Thanks in advance.
