It all looks delicious! I grew up eating beans, greens, and fried taters with sweet cornbread. I still make it for dinner when I'm missing my Nanny. Expect I make it like she did with ham (like you,) bacon, and sliced smoked sausage. Talk about a feast!!

I bought a jar of ham base to try with my beans for when I don't have bacon or bacon grease. I used it on my fried potatoes the other day because I didn't have any bacon or bacon grease, and it turned out pretty good. Next time I won't add as much salt though. (I salted the potatoes before getting the idea to try the ham base.)

I enjoy watching you Sarah, but you said you would show us how the instant pot depressurizes on part 2 and you did not.You have been creating part 2 videos for awhile now, that are only like a minute and something long. I hope you are not getting greedy for views.

Sara! You need to strain your bacon grease through a piece of doubled cheesecloth. It removes all the yucky black particles from your grease. I strain my grease through doubled cheesecloth that I secure with a rubber band around the top of a jar. I make sure that I leave enough of a droopy pouch to pour the grease through so it won’t go all over the place☺️! I just put on the lid and store in the refrigerator!
By the way, I really LOVE watching your videos, Sara, and I just subscribedπŸ₯°!

So good! I like to add a can of tomatoes and about 1/2 a bell pepper to mine too! I'll probably make some later this week when it's supposed to be rainy again! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for identifying the beans as pinto's. We used to live in the mountains and all anyone would tell you is that they were "brown" beans; I guessed that they were pinto's. They seemed to not even know. 😲 Enjoy your wonderful meal. 🍜

Thank you for the great recipe. Insta pot and also the air fryer are both appliances I am strongly considering and this is a very good reason to consider the Insta pot, I had no idea you could make soup from unsoaked beans that quickly!
