I love love all these recipes! Thank you for sparking my imagination! I began my sourdough journey during lockdown and have made many loaves of bread. You have given me the courage to venture out. Looking forward to making crackers and pancakes!
I love and appreciate your videos so much❤️!! I’ve done sourdough in the past but didn’t have much luck. You make it look so easy and fun! You’ve inspired me to start it again!!
Hey Lisa, I have questions not related to this video. I'm wondering do you have rats/mice on your farm and what do you do to keep them out of house or farm….? Maybe you could do a video about how to keep your farm/barn/yard clean and out of uninvited little furry guests? We're soon moving into an 1950s house and I saw ants in the house. Did you have that problem? How to solve it? I've tried some diy sprays but that doesn't keep them out of house for a long time. Thank you, Ana from Croatia
This was such a helpful video. After watching you, I started my own starter and have kept it happy for quite awhile.
Our grandchildren rave about the breads that I have made, and our youngest was recently quite disappointed to find that I was not making the cinnamon rolls for breakfast, while they were here visiting.
I am 74 and living proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks! 😍❤️😍
Question I know your sourdough is 11yrs old BUT I am just starting and am 8 days in making my starter. Is a smell close to a beer or strong kombucha smell ok?
There are so many “myths” and misconceptions about starter and discard and how much feeding etc. IMO people are trying to make it harder and more technical than it needs to be. And follow “gurus” or “gourmet chefs” who make a big show of it. I’m ancient times, they made bread. Period. Mix, sit, knead, shape, and bake. They didn’t pull up scientific tables and so on to make recipes.
Question, why are you buying granola than making it in bulk yourself ? It is the easiest thing to make. Oats, raisins (or not) honey, nuts, etc. bake then crumble. 😇
Thank you, I learned how to make sour dough starter, and sour dough bread from your videos. Thanks for the simple explanations of doing this. I took some of my discarded starter and made, Zucchini cookies with zucchini from the garden, I cut back on the butter called for in the recipe and added discard, 60% cacao Cho. chips, raisins, and chopped walnuts. I accidently grabbed the cumin instead of the cinnamon, I caught myself, but a little cumin went in, no problem, tasted great. They were fantastic. My next journey sour dough starter from potato water like my grandpa did. He was a sheepherder when he was young. It made the best pancakes.
I've always wanted to do sourdough starter but it was intimidating. You make it seem super easy and I may actually try it out 😃. My question is how do I keep the container from getting crusty at the top? My husband is not okay with anything crusty going in our fridge 😬
Thank you for continuing to inspire me and not to over think my sourdough starter! I really ❤ cooking with it and have saved SO much $$ on bread🍞🥞🧇🥯!! Next up, trying more of your recipes!
I love these recipes because I'm a working mom with a 3YO starter, and I rarely have time to make actual sourdough recipes (breads, biscuits, etc) because I'm gone 50 hours a week. I love no-wait sourdough recipes!
25g a day over 7 days for the starter is half a cup of wasted flour and realy only 5 days because the last 2 days you dont need to discard because then you have enough starter for a recipe and thereafter ther is no discard. So 100g of flour wasted, oops.
Hi, what brand are those jars? I love how wide they are.
This was a great video with some really good new ideas for using discard.I loved the pizza and flatbread ideas.
I’ve been watching & trying to master sourdough for a while now, but this video helped so much!! Thanks for all you do to teach us!!

I am surprised you do not use your filtered water for your Starter?

Love your recipes! Do you not use some sort of filtered water to feed your starter?
Is it okay to store in the fridge for a couple weeks at a time, and if so what is the feeding schedule for that?

Are you using the Tupes Makeup from your podcast? How do you like it?
I've never thrown away sourdough discard either! I love the recipe ideas here, thank you! I didn't realize I could make pizza crust that way.
How do you keep gnats out of that jar? I have the same one as you.
I always love your videos…you give great information and recipes….love it all!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️
Molto brava 😊
Do you ever wash the starter jar out?
No matter what I do, my starter gets pink or gross. Sigh. What am I doing wrong?!
Just an FYI only your American subscribers can access Thrive Market. Those is us from Canada and elsewhere don’t have access.
Three months in on my starter. Thanks for all the videos. Really enjoying the change of lifestyle.
Absolutely love your videos on sourdough. You give me such inspiration to start.
Why don’t you wash the starter jar? I’m ocd not sure I could use the messy jar. Would this work putting leftover in a clean jar then feeding it?
This is just the video I needed to motivate me to revive my dormant sourdough starter.
Do you ever freeze loaves of sourdough bread? Curious if it is good or not. 🤔

I just threw away some starter because the top had gotten watery; if that not necessary?
