Hi Rachel, I want to cook like you do; however I’m trying to determine a good mortar and pestle to buy. So many I see are expensive and people complain that they are not authentic and don’t work well.
Can you do a video and this? I trust you….. hugs.

I absolutely love your channel! I love your personality and your haircut! You wear some beautiful aprons too. These sopapillas remind me of my french grandmother's New Orleans beignets and sprinkled with powered sugar. Yummnmm! Thank you for the recipe!

OMG! I’m so happy that I found your videos and have subscribed to your channel. I see so much of my mother and grandmother’s cooking in the way that you do things. I just love the way you do a yum when it’s time for a taste test, I just start to salivate and wish I was tasting it too! I’m in my 70’s and wish I could do more of the cooking, but my arthritic wrists don’t always let me do to much of that! I’m passing these videos to my daughters and granddaughters and hopefully they will follow in our cooking traditions! Thank you, thank you so much! I think we need to see your Ron! ❤️❤️

I'm vieja (old), 73, and I recently learned a new trick with sopapilla, just in case there is any left over dough (doesn't happen often, right?) or if you want to pre-prepare. Roll out your pieces, cut and set them on the tray as you have done, then FREEZE them tightly covered. You can drop the frozen dough into your hot oil and they will 'poof' just like you were making them fresh!

I discovered sopapillas while living in New Mexico in late 70’s! I would fill them with rice and beans and then trade off with honey! You can do anything you want with those little puffs of delight!!
You’re so fun to watch and listen to Rachel!

I love this video! When I was in middle school, our Spanish teacher taught us about sopapillas. I made them numerous times as a kid & enjoyed them. I'm now in my early 50s. I lost the recipe she gave us students eons ago, so, muchísimas gracias, Rachel, for your video. I need to make these again soon. Thanks for conjuring up delightful childhood memories for me!

Hello Rachel I just found your channel and I got to tell you I am loving all the recipes. I have already made homemade tortillas twice and they were perfect!! I also made the bread as well. You make these recipes so simple and easy to follow. Thanks for inspiring me to make more things homemade!! By the way, do you have the pattern for your aprons?

Hi from Southern CA, I just found your channel and I have been binge watching. Everything you make looks delicious. You remind me of my family in New Mexico, I am taking a trip out there this coming week, I just asked my cousin to take me to a restaurant that serves sopapillas and now this video popped up.
