I’ve been making this for years & I have learned to make up the liquid lemon juice/cornstarch/seasoning mixture FIRST in the pot. I then add my apples to it one at a time as they are peeled, tossing them in the juices. This way, they don’t turn brown while waiting for me to peel all the others. I cut the amount of cornstarch in half…don’t really need as much as the recipe calls for. Also, I have found that Splenda tolerates the heat best in this recipe…it is one of the few sweeteners specifically made for baking. It is delicious over yogurt or oatmeal or just by itself!!
I save the peelings to go in my chocolate protein/frozen banana smoothies for extra fiber & vitamins. Just make sure you’ve washed the apples really well to start with & perhaps buy organic, if that concerns you. Enjoy!!!

I have made this many times and love it!! I always do it on high for about 4 hours because I like the apples softer. I’ve also added some to a basic overnight oatmeal recipe and it’s delish!! 😋

I made that years ago and served a couple of low fat graham crackers, I had forgotten about it until now. Thanks for the reminder! I did rejoin and chose potatoes and avocados, however, neither one do I eat that often, but I might have to start!🤣
