Nice one Bud here very tasty for sure and if you don't mind me adding sometimes a good trick is to bring the ingredients to a boil first in a saucepan then pour into the slowie for that long time low and slow goodness

I do the same, except that I add potatoes, on hi pressure for 25 minutes in my Ninja Foodi.
    I let it natural release.
Before this, I used the slow cooker all the time.
    👍

It's starting to get colder where I'm at. This time of the year is when I really put my slow cooker to use. There's nothing like coming home from work and having a hearty soup or stew waiting for you.

I was given a slow cooker (crock pot we call them here in Canada) years ago and it's been gathering dust ever since. Perhaps I'll try it out with this stew. It looks delicious. I'd brown the stewing beef and add some potatoes. Browning the meat just adds so much extra flavour and it looks appetizing. I'd serve it with crusty bread.

Hi single dad, I have had a slow cooker for years. I tend to put spuds in first, halved and not peeled. then add carrots, onions and all veg, but not mushrooms. I like to use a good soup as a base and heat in microwave, not to many salts etc. Brown off meat with flour and put on top of the rest of the meal. Pre- heat the slow cooker and add all the food in layers. Add soup and or tins of tomatoes etc, heated the put cooker on high. after put cooker on low. When you come in with family etc, put it on high and add mushrooms, peppers anything a bit soft and give a stir. You can add dumplings, at this point I you want to. All the best mate.

I just love stew, and my kids loved it too! I always made homemade buns to go with it. I was a single mum of 4 and it was always good for more than 1 meal, and lunches! Now theyre all grown up and 3 of them still ask for stew when they come home. Yours looks wonderful! Ive never used mushrooms or diced tomatoes, but I might have to try them when its just me! Thanks!

I love your recipes! What I love the most is that you take the time in each video to thank the viewer and to wish everyone the best. You always say to take care of yourself and others! That’s a very, very good thing that we should all remember. Thanks so much from the USA!

Love my slow cooker and fix many yummy stews, soups, chili's and roast in it. Cheap cuts of meat do well in a crockpot with the long slow cooking. Really once you get the hang its basically dump.your ingredients and leave it till dinner time. Veggies cut large will not cook down so cut smaller pieces and I find sometimes you need a tad bit more seasoning.
    But your stew looks good.
    Thanks from across the pond!

That did look delicious!! 16 hours is double the time though. But it looked perfect. Its usually 6-8 hours. I've done it with just water salt, pepper, bay leaf, paprika, couple tablespoons tom paste and Bob's your uncle 😁. I never have beef bouillon. Sometimes if I want to throw a big roast in there, I'll just boil the veggies separately when the meat is done, if there's not enough room in there for the veg. These crocks are meant for people to start them in the morning, go to work, come back home, dinners done. Put it on high, it'll be done 6-8 hours. You can do alot with these though, worth looking into. Thank you 🙌🙌👏👏👍
Edit: I always add a couple tablespoons of flour to thicken it, I NEVER brown the meat either. I don't see any difference so I skip that step. Always garlic and onion though.

I have been using a slow cooker for a while now a lot more mainly because of energy prices plus there is so much you can cook in them. I know you say you are not a chef but I would rather watch you cooking than any big chef as your meals always have accessible ingredients that people can afford and look lovely. Thank you

    Automatic Like!😉😋🇨🇦
Try not to lift the lid, it will increase your cooking time. And Bev at Our Halfacre Homestead puts one or 2 tea towels or hot pads over her slow cooker. She says it helps with evening the heat. Insulates the lid? I haven't tried it yet.

I love my slow cooker…It's smart. All I do is set the timer and it will be cooked by the time the timer goes off. I can speed up the cooking process or slow it down, the temperature automatically adjust for the time given. Best money, for the kitchen, I've ever spent. This looks delicious by the way can't wait to try it. I've never been good at making beef stews.😊
