Today I am making shrimp taquitos, or you may call them flautas, for dinner. Here is an easy shrimp recipe that’s easy to make.

I actually do these with a can of tuna fish. Make up the tuna as you normally would with mayo and relish, roll em up and fry them. They are fantastic and very affordable. I will be doing these with the shrimp tonight 🙂

Hey kiddo! I live in Southern California so I love that you pronounce tortillas etc the correct way (as you would) so many YouTubers out there mispronounce them so badly in their demonstrations 🙄…by the way I heat up all my corn/flour tortillas in the microwave by using a cloth tortilla warmer…20 seconds easy peasy . Then use them for frying or rolling for tacos, taquitos, whatever

Why do you call corn tortillas, taquitos filled rolls, fluatas? Flautas are made with flour tortillas. Should I start calling my empanadas tamales?

RE: heating up the tortillas in the microwave

I think the microwave dries out the tortillas hence the breakage in the frying oil. Perhaps a way to mitigate that is microwaving the tortillas with a damp paper towel on them to create steam and rehydrate the tortillas as it cooks. I use that trick on stale pan, dried out leftover meats, etc 🙂

Okay so I am allergic to shrimp but, I have to see how you are getting them in taquitos. That tacos gobanador facinates me as well. It looks so good but, in my mind I am always replacing shrimp/fish with chicken in the recipes.
