A trick to making reconstituted milk palatable is to add a few drops of vanilla to it. Also, converted rice/parboiled rice may not do as well in this. It would make for a looser pudding but after it has chilled it would still be lovely and tasty. You can also layer it with the bits of jam left in the fridge to make a tasty rice pudding parfait.

I’ve started doing this with all my recipes about a year ago. I have several binders full. I need to make one specific to canning and freeze drying. This is a great thing to do in the event of grid down times.

That looks sooo yummy, but I am a lazy cook😝Here’s how I do it: leftover rice and water in instant pot plus sugar, salt, vanilla and some kind of dried fruit (no need to rehydrate if you add enough water) I love dried cherries but whatever you have will work. I also like a pinch of pie spice or just cinnamon. set for 0 minutes-just want to overhydrate the rice. Let it natural release and stir in milk that was mixed with about half the water to compensate for the over hydration. Mix it all up and let it set until cool enough to eat. If I were using my regular ingredients I would sub cream for the milk. So luscious.

No I got to go make rice so I can have leftovers 🤣

Oh in some of the reaps in the past if I was using dried milk I would put the powder with the solid items and the water with the liquid items. I made sure that I combined well seeing that it will all cook together it just saves the step of "making" the dried milk. Just a thought!

Did I misunderstand — I thought I heard PP say each YouTube participant would link a printable recipe or have the recipe in the description. It would make sense for it to go into the notebook.

Thank you for doing this collab and for all your help on leisa's channel last night that was fun even though that's not the way it was planned. I have never made rice pudding this way mine was more of a custardy thing that you baked and it's good too but I can see this being made a little more often at my house. Like usual thanks for all you do take care and God bless
