Hearty sausage, kale and pearl couscous soup. Simple to make in the Instant Pot. If you don’t have a pressure cooker, you can still make this on the stovetop.
It’s starting to warm up here. Spring is on its way but I’m still needing some hot hearty soups to warm me up. This one is a keeper! Hope you’ll give it a try!
Hello Flo and Dude, there’s a farmers market that’s about a 15 minute walk and I’m going there to get most of the ingredients for this yummy soup. I do have a question about soups, so what makes a soup a bisque?
Thank you, you two are a gift to me and I am thankful!
Yes we also call it half and half in the states!😊
Okay this looks like probably your most tasty recipe yet! Yum yum!
I remember when you use to be soooo nervous to release the pressure ……
Wow, I never would have thought to make a soup like this! I definitely will be trying this one before or after Christmas. Thanks again, Flo!
We just made this tonight and it was a really big hit! Always love your recipes and tips 🙂
That looks amazing 😉
We say half and half
This looks amaaaaazing. I'd love to try making this!
Looks awesome
I love watching your videos, you are so funny & make great recipes!
How do you think sweet italian sausage would work in this?
Is Couscous anything like Orzo? I've never had Couscous. Definitely making this soup. I don't have any Couscous so I might use the Orzo. Thanks again Flo for another great recipe. 🙂
Yes, we call it half and half, in the US too! And btw, I cook my couscous in whey that is left over from making Greek style yogurt in my Instant Pot. Nice flavor when paired with Moroccan or Persian stews.
Flo, I also am lactose intolerant. I don't know you can get it in Canada but here in the states you can purchase a lactose free half and half. You might do some research so Dude can enjoy many things without fear.
That looked so delicious Flo. I’m not a big fan of Kale. How do you think the soup will turn out if I substitute Kale with spinach? Another great recipe that I’ll try for sure.
That looks wonderful with all things I love, I’ll definitely make this. Thanks again for a great video.😊
Looks amazing!!! Can’t wait to try it … supposed to be cool (for Florida) again next week so this is perfect!!!
And yes…. we half half and half in the States! 😀
The orzo May have made it a little thick, but this is 😋 delicious !
Making with orzo instead of cous cous. It’s all in the pot and cooking!
I'm going to make this using cabbage…umm
Flo's evil laugh when the couscous almost goes down the wrong pipe! LOL (edited to add that the soup looks great and I'm going to make it)
Lol yes half and half
Wonderful yet again flo,
As I am now type 2 diabetic…herditary type,I replace most pasta ,rice ,etc with brockli rice or cauliflower rice ,or the Mediterranean style.
It's a great sub for potatoes too,and a great thicker .
I can adapt this to suit .
More snow due here today in the UK, went from 14dg no coat yesterday to 3 dgs today 😨
Ime off to cook your dish 👍
Best wishes flo x dude 👏
Yum a perfect soup for those cold days
Looks like it would be a perfectly wonderful soup even without the diary. Suggestion to reduce the glug glug and splashing when you pour in the stock, pour with the opening at the top of the container instead of the bottom so that the outgoing stock and the incoming air can share the opening.
Is the orange stuff the Couscous? What is the orange chopped up stuff? I’m so confused .
Dude! Your camerawork is off today, what’s up???
Yes, it's half and half in the states. 💗
Teaspoon? More like tablespoon… That's a lot celery salt.
Looks divine! You always share yummy soup recipes. Thank you Flo!
2:33 Deja Vu all over again. . . . . . 🙂
Hi Flo! This soup looks delicious! I usually don't have milk or half and half..if I use whipping cream and the soup is too thick, could I add more broth or would you recommend water? Also, how much parmesan would you recommend to add? 🙂 Thank you!
That soup looks so delicious. I will have to make some soon. Like Dude, I'm lactose intolerant as well–bummer. Thanks Flo.
Wow!! Flo, this soup looks amazing! Very simple, quick, and healthy. A tip for you pouring those broth containers, pour them upside down.

This would be good with barley too but, I love couscous too! I've never tried the pearl kind. Do you know if it is the same as "Israeli" couscous?
Dude, great camera work and editing. I appreciate the close-up and the camera went exactly where my eye wanted to go. Loved the "vibe".
What? No bacon?!?!? 😝 I love Israeli couscous.
Love the color! Can’t wait to try this. Thanks!
Wonderful as always! You guys are cute.❤❤❤❤
Can't wait to try this soup! I've never used the parmesan rind. Do you remove it with the bay leaf or does it melt like grated parmesan? Love your videos!!
