Just watched an old episode where you went to the HOA Conference. I’m heading there this year (driving…all the way from Minnesota) and I can’t wait to chat with everyone!!!!

Love the brake bleeder idea, ran to Harbor Freight and got one. I much prefer dehydrating and vacuum sealing to canning as it's much easier for me to do. I don't store anything in cardboard since it attracts bugs unless I put it in the freezer. Everything pretty much goes into jars since I've yet to see a rodent chew though glass 🙂

I live in Canada. Believe it or not, our Dollarama Stores sell the Bernardin, equivalent to your Ball Canning flats 12 for $2.50, buy else where your paying up to $7.99. I haven't had a failure yet. I have recently been told that they are going to discontinue them so I am getting 3 or 4 boxes when I can to stock up.

I love the pantry chats. And I *love me some liver and onions, smothered in gravy served with rice. I know, not so healthy, but comfort food isn't supposed to be, is it?? Do you can your sweet potatoes in water or a syrup with spices?

Thanks for the reminder about making sure I had enough quality lids! It was frustrating recently to grab some jars that I canned last year that seemed to seal at the time, only to find that I could just knock the lid off with my finger because the sealant had completely disappeared. Yikes.

I just found you. Loving it so far. I haven't seen anyone in gardening growing Lima beans. I also get ads from black folks in bigger proportions which should happen equally, imo and surprised me. I'm really trying to tackle canning and I think you're my girl.

Cassandra, I absolutely love your videos! Started watching a few months ago and am hooked and inspired! I enjoyed your video of your trip to the UK; former military myself and was stationed over there years ago. I always feel like I'm sitting at the table with you in your videos 🙂

Oh man, I love that I found your channel. I was lucky enough to marry a woman who grew up canning, and it's nice to see channels like these encouraging it.

I just found your channel and love it. So many great ideas. I’m wonder though, I don’t see the actual recipes linked or in the description box. I’d love to make the strawberry fig jam.

    Hello Everyone
I want to preserve my foods by canning and dehydration also but I have a problem. My home was built in 1950 with no insulation. I live in Houston, Texas… You see my problem. I purchased my jars and they just ping all the time empty. I am afraid the food will spoil with the extreme temperatures. I am disabled and can't afford the $4K I was quoted to get blown insulation in the walls. The city insulated the attic through an assistance program but it gets almost 90° in the summer. Any suggestions?

Love that you call and tease your Dad with his favorite jam. I too live in a townhouse and limited space so nice to watch someone who shares same struggles. Question ..do you have issues with squirrels going into your vertical planters on your deck? I want one but dont want to feed the neighbors. Thanks for the great content! really enjoy all of it !

I just got the fermented book that you held up in this video. And I think I’m going to try to canned some sweet potatoes and knowing that there’s a second layer under the skin and roasted is a game changer. Thanks for the up video.
