I clean can with Pine Sol lemon, dry with paper towel and put baking soda on the bottom, no odors.
Just take the trash out every day. Just nasty😢
My mom has always put a newspaper at the bottom in the plastic trash bag. We have never had the grossness that developed. Love this hack though, I’m sure it makes it smell nice.
OR…just put some fabric softners below your trash bag.
Or just spray the stinky shoes with FUNKAWAY and no more odors!! Worth every penny you spend on it.

I discovered those big spring /summer greenish black flies absolutely hate Pine Sol sprayed towards them. Wasps move away too….doesn’t seem to kill just leave area until it disseminates….which in my area would be for several hours or more. My climate is western coastal, not dry heat.
