Thank you so much, I came across some black rice in the Lidl (here in the Netherlands) and I had never seen it before. I didn't know what to do with it the first time so I left it, but after I saw some of your videos and went back and got it. I honestly just wanna mix it with white sticky rice for the colour, but now I have something I can actually make

Hey this dish is originally south indian . It is also popular in Sri Lanka Indonesia etc. Though in india we use white rice . Purple rice is mostly used in Himalayan and North east states for other dishes
Sticky rice is my fav. Pulut and pulut panggang are my favourite.
In Manipur we make Kheer which is a sweet dish where you cook the rice with milk. We make this sweet dish with the black rice and it's tasty and beautiful 😋

In indonesia especially on west sumatra, we usually make them into 'bubur hitam' or black porridge. It had a sour-ish sweet taste with a hint of bitterness. And we eat bubur hitam with lemang or white sticky rice.
