Hi Siân!! Many articles may not have left the closet but you’ve done an awesome job no matter what.. I’d put them in by pattern number & see how that works out & if it doesn’t try by color coordination then.. I’d say goodbye to the pink dress.. Can’t wait for Sunday’s hangout….

🌲⛄I enjoyed that vlogmas how nice feeling when you have put in order your staff (personal things).I have more accessories than clothes but the important thing is our area space . When I want to sew clothes it's because I have inspired from my accessories a bag or shoes because my taste for them is strange.I don't know if this is normal 😂😂😂.

I love wardrobe declutter videos. I find they tell us interesting things about the way we feel about our clothes and belongings. That sweet potato skirt is SO nice on you – one little skirt hook at the top would fix the issue with the edges pulling apart. A worthy alteration, I'd say!

Eons ago I made a stretch velvet dress, slim fit, non flared skirt. I wanted to love it but it presented problems when wearing it. I used to walk from the bus to work. While walking to work I felt my raincoat riding up. I thought it was static….NOT. By the time I got to work my dress had literally spun around my body several times and was bunched up under my pits. THANK GAWD I took my coat off out of sight of others! I had to hold onto one side the entire day to prevent it from doing it's spin again. Needless to say, it became gift bags that year.

Your mom has such a pleasantness about her and lovely looking. If your parents lived next door to me, I would be visiting them often. They are so darn sweet. I miss my parents even at my old age. It is so good of you to donate some of your clothing which will make someone so happy to wear I would place dresses together by color ;trousers by color, etc. I think with your figure you would look great in a straight skirt. It is surprising how it can slim one down. I have done that as opposed to flare skirts making my hips look bigger. Try it sometime. You have a great figure which many gals would love to have. You seem to have a tough time getting rid of your clothing. One needs to say…ok….this must go and be gone with it rather than hold on to it….You sew so beautifully and can make more.

Mine tends to be organised by garment, as in skirts, trousers dresses etc, i dont order beyond that but if I were to do that I would probably go colour coordinated, really looking forward to receiving my new jacket 😍

While my wardrobe was visually appealing when I organized by color, I found choosing garments came much more easily when they were grouped by garment type. It’s just how my brain works I guess. 😉

I positively see the gift fabric as a Danny shirt for the summer. Now I have created havoc in the household. lol I organize my closet by garment type. One closet is for warmer weather and one for colder weather arranged by garment type. No I would not keep the pink dress. Too "birthday party dress" for me. Great tidy up – looks great.

I would go for colour order. When choosing separates it's easier to chose a matching item. Also, colour affects our moods so you'll be able to chose a colour to match or lift your mood. I would keep all of your vintage items, whether they fit or not. They should be loved and valued and you already feel that about them.Once you leave them go their gone from you forever.I,honestly, think in the future you would regret leaving them go and your memories of them will be drowned by your sadness.Much better to keep them, bring them out and re-live the happy memories.

I would definitely organise by colour, as that's what works for me. It's good to have had that clear out. I need to do something with my office/sewing space/junk room, as it's getting out of hand. But it's easier not to look and just do more fun things…

Wow Sian you have some amazing dresses and skirts, I can understand why you don’t want to get rid of them, even if they don’t fit. Clothes can evoke wonderful memories, so for that reason alone they are worth keeping. I’m definitely a colour organising when it comes to the wardrobe 🤗🤗

New trend this year! Replace Elf on a Shelf with Waffle from the Wardrobe! 🤣 I wouldn't get rid of a lot of clothes from a beautiful wardrobe like yours either, so just go with "It brings me joy", hang it back in there, and don't feel bad about it. I have my clothes sorted by colour because that's how my brain works. I'm more like to go looking for something red or green to wear rather than a specific shape or pattern. If you dress more by looking for an Eve dress first and print or colour are a secondary criterium then I'd sort by pattern first. Looking forward to Sunday's hangout – my project list for December is ridiculously ambitious and I always get a lot done digitally socialising with you and the Peeps. 😄❤

When I make the seasonal change in the closets, I put the hangers in backwards. When an item is worn, laundered and returned to the closet it is hung forward. Anything on a backward hanger at the end of a season is scrutinized for donation… this works well for me and I’ve done it in my husband’s closet – he is agreeable to this method.

Hello lovely once again I love watching you and your parents eating amazing chocolates from their Christmas calendar.
I love your hangers and where did you purchase them ? All those amazing outfits you have made I personally will put patterns to pattern not colour because when I have made the same outfit in a different colour wave or fabric they look so different. I like the fact that one pattern is for this load and follow from there.
Love Love your vintage collection and your amazing skirts OMG I have sisters with a waist 24 they will just love.
See you tomorrow Happy Vlogmas day 3 XXX

Well! I think that was really successful 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and you’re feeling virtuous already so it’s definitely a good thing! As for how I organise my clothes…I really don’t have that many clothes so few, in fact, that they are all stored together in one (quite small) wardrobe all year round and 4 drawers!

    Forward Ho!

You make me feel like I really need to go through my closet and get rid of stuff I don't wear. I really need to get back to sewing. I want new jammies and I purchased lovely knit fabrics for them. Maybe after Christmas. I never coordinate my closet, it is a hodge podge of everything. I do have a Civil War Era dress that I will never wear again. Need to find someone that does reenactments so I can sell it. Have a great evening.

OxyClean, Prosolve, or any of the oxygen based fabric cleaners will take out the water marks in your mom's dress without damaging the other colours. Just choose one for coloured fabrics and wash it in a basin by hand. As long as the dress can handle very hot water, you will be fine, just test a small corner of it first. I would try that before dying it.
