I love your variation of the turnovers! Traditional dutch ones ('appelflappen') are made with an apple and raisins mix (just add a bit of cinnamon and sugar). I also press the edges of the turnovers with a fork to keep it from spilling the fillings.

Looks like you all had a great time. I think I am going to try a "friends" Christmas. It's just my husband and I here. I love to cook and entertain. We have friends that need a place to hang out so why not here. Thank you for all your ideas.

I had thanksgiving today. I have prepared for weeks and cooked for two days. I'm exhausted!! We had very little left over so I guess I'll feel good that everyone liked the food. I prepared all of it as low carb and sugar free as possible. And to think Christmas is just a few weeks away. I need to rest up!! your meal looked wonderful!!!

looks so fun and yummy! I have Griffith's cookbook too and thought that cranberry strawberry looked familiar. I know it's unusual to ask, but can I have your friend's recipe for the Brussel sprouts? That looked yummy! Happy Thanksgiving recovery day, and Merry Christmas!

Instead of fluting the crust to the turnovers like u did and how u would with pie , use a fork and crimp the edges all the way around like u would with peanut butter cookies or something like that and it should hold together better ( not explode as much ) that’s how my mom taught me and she worked in a bakery for years , it’s how she was taught . Hope this helps ❤ everything looked amazing , hope you had a beautiful holiday kimmy
