This was Horace Heidt's only movie. Despite huge popularity on discs and radio, he was too bland to click on screen as the Dorseys, Goodman, Miller, Calloway and Ellington did. He should worry- he went into California real estate development after WW2 and made a fortune. And there is still a revival version of his 'Musical Knights'.

I’m so happy to find this movie on YouTube! So silly and cute, just a good feel good film! This movie is not a well know one but brings me such great memories of watching it with my Gram whenever I would stay over at the grandparents house.

If that's really JS playing the chromatic harp then the guy's more amazing than I ever thought—-they're NOT easy to play that well and I don't really care for musicals but this one's slightly different and the year after this JS was flying planes in WWII

Jimmy Stewart did a great job in this funny movie about his stodgy & miserly uncle who hates music & fun….while jimmy loves molly and music in that order….finally his uncle sees the light to keep jimmy happy and molly out of jail…..a funny & zany movie….
