Could I do this similarly without a PC? I have a large stock pot I use for grain jars. I don't have access to a PC at the moment but I do have every ingredient in the video besides the PC. I'd imagine if I attempted it I would lose pressure and mess it all up. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Many people recommend turning the petri dishes upside after innoculating them… what is your opinion on this, and do you thing it applies to these disposable cups as well?

Wish I'd have heard of oven tek before! I've had agar and petri dishes for like 4 years but didn't even bother to try this since I don't have a flow hood.

Thanks so much! Now I'll get to know if the old petri dish cultures that have been sitting in my fridge are still alive!

Why do we need potato flakes
Can we use something like boiled potatoes or what do you suggest?
I'm not a fan having to buy said when one doesn't have to
What else can we use other than agar

I love this. I haven't been able to find a reasonably priced product to replace the parafilm that everyone uses on their agar plates, and if I can' do it like this and get them a little seal, I won't need to worry about getting parafilm. Thank you so much brother.

Followed this process today. I found that a small canning jar with the rubber part of the lid facing up to allow pressure equalization worked well in place of a media bottle

Made this recipe to a T, inoculated with spore syringes, a week later and very little growth, some have none.

Any growth that is there is extremely tomentose and growing vertically, the most extreme case is almost 6mm in the air!

Could this be from a lack of nutrients in the agar?

Maybe even too many nutrients and it doesn't need to spread to get anymore.

    PGT, help would be appreciated!
