this might sound stupid but the sizzle reel at the beginning almost made me start crying. I have no sentimental ties to this dish, I just want to make food that is yummy and beautiful like that.

I buy the spices, but in much smaller amounts. I'm an American White Girl, yes, but American recipes can, imo, lack a lot of flavor compared to food from other cultures. So I cook from scratch as much as possible. I will probably, however, not make as much curry sauce, as it would go to waste. 🙁

I use that same multi day process when I make tonkatsu! First day I cook the pork cutlets, second day I make curry to put on top, third day I make katsudon with whatever is left.

I know if you get to eat the chicken right away it doesn't get soggy but I prefer putting the chicken on top of the rice so it doesn't get soggy and I can choose to soak it up when I am ready but that is a small thing. Good job and congrats on the sponsored video.

Congrats on getting sponsored. I love chicken katsu curry, I make it as often I can. Sometimes I cut corners when I don't have too much time I buy chicken tenders from chick fil a and I don't puree the veggies into the curry, my kids love it. I can't wait til I get my sakuraco box. Thanks for sharing your version of the curry.

Aaron you always help me to figure out what's for dinner in my home. This looks so yummy. Claire I love the idea of making the two separate meals and combine on the third day. You are Brilliant! 🤩

My mother-in-law taught me to make curry with Golden Curry. Close to what Aaron just did, except we start with pork stew meat and keep the veg chunky, it is total comfort food.
