Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It's a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I really learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of every day. I’m a romantic at heart, with a very practical lifestyle approach “ keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.

Aw, my daughter asked for waffles this morning. I love the old waffle iron. It looks like the one my mom had. She passed 11 years ago. I think it’s time to go on a search through the thrift stores! ❤️ Thanks for sharing another beautiful vlog.

I have just discovered your Chanel and can I say all the way from Melbourne Australia I love your content. I’ve just worked an incredibly busy shift at my hospital and to come home, make a coffee and sit and listen to your soothing voice is so relaxing. I’d love to find a waffle press like yours, waffles aren’t a big thing here but I know my kids would love them! You inspire to look for and enjoy the simple pace that life can be if we do choose it. Thankyou for being being the calm ☺️

    Such a lovely video.

Old appliances are often made to a better standard, but sadly the electrics age and the wire casings can dry out and crack which pose a danger that I am sure you are aware of.

I wish new kitchen machines were made to last.

Beautiful, I donated mine a few years ago. One just like that. Wouldn’t it wonderful if it had been mine? It would be like being family 😘😘. I don’t make waffles anymore. No one wants any when I’d make them. Lovely table in your kitchen 💕 ~ Janet 😘

I’m so glad to see your family surviving the Michigan UP winter. I love this state and I want your family to love it too. I have been watching for a while now but when you moved to Michigan I just felt I would relate to you even more but watching you and Hunny makes my heart melt for I too am blessed with a wonderful husband and I love our quiet times together over a cup of any beverage. We are retired now and empty nesters but we still love to spend time together. I pray daily for more and more people to embrace the goodness that God gives us in our family as well as those we connect with outside our home. Looking forward to seeing your wood cook stove in action. Thanks for sharing a glimpse into your daily lives…I only ask to be enlightened and entertained and you never disappoint!!!:):):)

Hi Abby, what another wonderful video. Your video's are so cozy I want to jump into the screen and join you when have your tea time. I know just what you mean about grandmothers wonderful memories. When we would spend the night we all looked forward to grandma's breakfasts as well. I remember her breakfasts were so wonderful. Just like your video today. She would also add side pork which I haven't had for years. There were no booster seats during that time so I sat on a pile of catalogs on a chair. Grandma's diningroom was small and looking back how a family of six and Grandma and my aunt all fit around that table I will never know, but we did! As we ate our breakfast I can remember one window in the diningroom that housed beautiful green plants that were so lush and green. Regarding old appliances, my parents bought a chest freezer in the 60's. When I got married in 1982 they gave me their freezer. I'm 63 and that beautiful Sears and Roebuck freezer stopped working just this last year. They don't make appliances to last anymore. So happy you found your waffle iron and thank you for taking me down memory lane.

Are those Frankoma cups? (green & brown earthenware) I grew up with that. Both my grandmother and mother had it. I have a few pieces, but not full sets like they had. They are from Missouri so it was more common there. -Take care Sue in GR MI

Loved this video. I use an old percolator from the 60's for coffee. To keep my coffee that I don't drink right away warm I use and old stanley thermos. When I want a cup in the afternoon it is still warm. Both thrift store finds. Always a joy to watch your videos. -Sue in GR MI

Both my grandmother and mother had waffle makers like yours, and they made the best waffles! Your whole wheat waffles looked so good, especially with the homemade whipped cream and berries! I imagine my grandmother who made everything from scratch would be dismayed to see me eating grocery store frozen waffles from the toaster ☺️

Love how you preserve things. The bowl with the crack still serves a purpose and is worthy of a place on the table. The Japanese treasure broken things and repair and still use them. They call it waving Saba. Love that these ideas cross cultures and are a mindset.

Your videos are always so beautiful and relaxing Abby Jo. I love that you enjoy vintage appliances. I have a very old vintage iron for quilting and I just purchased an old krumkake iron (Norwegian cookie) for my sister. She loves it because it is like mine and not made anymore. They just don’t make appliances like they used to. I so appreciate that you honor your husband and treat him with his favorite things. It is what makes a marriage a beautiful covenant. Blessings to you and I can’t wait to see your wood cook stove. I must say……I am green with envy but so happy for you!

Wow, I wish every young and not so young woman watches this video and see how a wife papers her husband with such love and care. Also, for young man and not so young men to see how much a man does for his family. You and your family are a good role model for present and future generations to imitate. Congratulations!!!!

Thats brunch looks amazing. Fun fact because we are subtropical our strawberries are in season in winter. Haha. The strawberry farm was a gorgeous place to take the family on cool morning and pick our containers full then have morning tea in the barn by a wood fire on well worn leather lounges. Beautiful. I haven't been to the new one that I buy from here because she meets us in a teeny town not far and we buy seconds already frozen but they are delicious anyway, even if we didn't pick them ourselves . How funny , the golden book of the little red hen is right next to me , it was this morning chosen by my little girl as our wake up book. My friend bought me a copy and gave me a chook shaped handbag the other day . She is so fun , always buying gifts that make me giggle. Totally agree with vintage being made to last. Have a beautiful day or night lovelies 🥰🥰
