My mom used to make this…(no cheese) as an easier way to make stuffed cabbage…with a good rye bread with sweet butter.
All the flavors none of the rolling.

You know my grandma Cora had to use tomato soup too because the tomato pastes or sause was to acidic for her.
It's a good way to keep them happy with out the tummy hurting.
    God bless you all.

I have been watching your show for a while, and have tried many casserole dishes and more. I love how you present the food and the easy steps you give. Also, I love that you give receipes that are from the pantry that we all have. Thanks so much. I am from Allen Park, Michigan….Bless you

I tried your recipe and did it exactly like you showed on your video…..only one difference…..I did it in an Instant Pot. It worked fantastic, as, I sauteed the onions and hamburger I dumped in all the ingredients into the pot and pressure cooked it for 20 minutes, let it naturally de-compress for 10 minutes and it turned out absolutely fantastic….added the cheese and it was delicious. I left the pot on warm setting and the rest is history. I loved cabbage rolls as a kid, but, they are work intensive, but this was a cinch. Also, in the instant pot, no heat in the kitchen, as when I made this, it was 105˚ outside in Boise, Idaho…thanks for the recipe…it's become a favorite.

Mom made something similar growing up. But in the oven.

I use a 24oz can of crushed or diced tomatoes and 1-2 cans of seasoned tomatoes (Italian, rotel, or roasted) (14oz). Onion, peppers, mushroom. Then in a 9-13 glass dish. Cover with foil and cook for 45-60 minutes.

I like to mix the red and green cabbage. Use 1/2 a head of each. Chop the other half and put in the freezer to use a 2-4 weeks later.

Will have to try the 1 pot method to save cleaning the glass dish.
