Looks great. We have plenty of Jamaican takeaways here in London. When we got married, my wife and I decided to order 150 freshly made Jamaican patties delivered to the wedding at 10.00 pm. Everyone was super drunk and when those things turned up it was an absolute sensation. People were on the dance floor with Jamaican patties in one hand, a drink in the other hand, pastry crumbs all over their faces and clothes. It was so funny.
Just a general question for anyone willing to answer… Is it sacrilege to use canned (out of a jar actually) diced garlic and ginger paste?

Drove Truck into NYC for thirty years and the Jamaican Beef Patty from the street vendors were Fantastic. I have to say, yours looks spot on.
My other favorite food from street vendors there is a Dominican/Latino food called "Pastelitos" almost the same but different

As a Jamaican you did a good job but did not make the crust correctly it’s supposed to be flaky you need to put cold butter in the dough as if your making a croissant the crust is just if not more important than the filling what u made is basically a empanada

Jamaican Patties are amazing 👌🏽
Guyanese Patties are very different, but just as good! They’re made usually with chicken, spices, peas and carrots, in a pastry cup. I have to admit, I like them more than the Jamaican Pattie’s. I recommend them if you haven’t tried it before!
Beef Patties to a Torontonian is like a New Yorker to Pizza. We grew up on these things. Getting beef Pattie’s from the local convenience store for 1 or 2 dollars is like the official school lunch of Toronto. Real ones know the best Patties are from Randy’s or Bathurst station though.
