AB I bought some dry northern beans bc of you. I want to make the hambone bean soup I got from you but can’t find any hambone or ham hocks at the store. They said they haven’t gotten any in. Can I just use regular ham to season the beans. Ty so much.

I cooked the recipe on New Year's Eve, 12/31/2021, and the Black Eyed Peas were delicious. This was my first time soaking beans overnight. I plan to use this method again. Also, no bean splitting LOL! Everybody loved them! Thanks for sharing.

Bringing this to rugged and beautiful Pacific Northwest region! Learned about this dish and it’s significance at a Women’s Talking Circle (a weekly luncheon of sisterhood support on our tribal reservation) so here’s to a lucky and prosperous New Year and community stabilization & well-being! Thanks for showing me how to make it!
