So, I found out that apparently, 90% of the Green Onions sold in Supermarkets are actually young Scallywags, err, Scallions. I did this by the simple expedient of planting the poor neglected things that got lost in my fridge.
Sure why buy a 99 cent per 5 pound when you can spend 10$ for seeds, a few dollars for water and over 3 months to grow them. Oh and also a yard with the available room in an unaffordable market for housing in North America.
Fun fact here in he Phillipines we had a onion shortage, every onion red/white were super expensive, so if their easy to grow why didn't they think of that. Something i think other countries are smarter than the my country😂
Thank you! Can you also grow onions in a deep pot or planter on a balcony or terrace? If so, any suggestions how deep, lightinģ, watering frequency, etc?…
100 hours of work for a $5 haul, but ok.
Don't slice off the tops- that's one of the BEST parts.. especially in fresh beans with corn bread…
Exactly the same with garlic.
Out of these 3 options, basically means you can't replant them?
I can NEVER get onions to grow properly.

Very good editing. It starts as it ends. Very clever.
I thought scallions = spring onions? I guess not..
What happen to his brother? Is he doing something else?
Can I know if I can also use the plant it self to grow or should I just buy a seedling to plant it. 🤔
