Iโ€™m so glad I came across this channel! Iโ€™ve subbed to your other one for years and didnโ€™t know you had another!
I canโ€™t take my eyes off of Nala, sheโ€™s so stinking cute!
Looking forward to the possible new fixer updates!

Nala is still so young. She sure is clever, but she is a young puppy. You cannot rush things. – She will learn in no time. Smaller dogs usually get these things earlier. My previous (long time ago) Great Dane & Rottweiler cocktail – well it took about 6 months for him to be all house trained – and the poops were not tiny…. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Time is the best teacher there. Just be patient. …. And, this meeting went well. Like everyday meeting, no fuss. I think, Mr. Rocky has kinda approved, that he also has a little sister in the household.

I wonder if nala is confused about where to go. Our vet recommended training outside or on pad but not both due to confusion. She is obviously able to hold it if she waits until inside to go potty. Maybe try taking the pad outside with you and see if she goes. Then transition Tony going outside only if thatโ€™s what you want her to do.

I've not personally known anyone who used the potty pads to be successful at actually housebreaking their dogs. Not at all trying to be a Debbie Downer- just sharing. I understand why you needed to go that route while doing everything possible to keep Rocky and Nala separated. Take her out after eating, sleeping and playing. But I'm sure you already knew that.
I had only one dog I couldn't housebreaking. Would take her out and she'd do nothing. Bring her back in and she'd immediately poop and pee on the carpet ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Nala will get the hang of potty training and soon you will have Rocky and Nala in your bed! You might have to get a bigger bed! Just joking ๐Ÿ™‚ Love they are making progress and getting used to each other!

My thought is you may want to leave Nala's cage open while you and Rocky are in the room. This will allow her to come and go and Rocky has to learn to share the space.

I recall there was a liquid you could buy at the pet store that when you place it on the spot on the ground where you want them to go the odor encourages them to pee. Itโ€™s been years since I last house trained a dog though. When they do take care of business make sure to really praise them. I remember there was a British dog trainer Barbara Woodhouse and she would say โ€œwhat a good dogโ€ (and sheโ€™d emphasize the T in what) she used to say dogs like to hear the sound of the hard T (sounds funny) but I did try it.

This has worked for my dogs: when they have gone poop inside instead of outside, I pick it up and do an "Acadamy Award" performance of being very, very sad; take the poop outside and put it where I want the dog to go, and then continue the performance by being very excited and happy. Well, there you have my "acting career!" lol

I know it sounds disgusting but this is how I trained our dogs and it worked put a shower curtain down a little bit bigger than the pee pad when she pees leave the pad there don't change it right away and when she poops anywhere else pick up the poop and put it on the pad leave it there at least to the end of the day then you can change it she needs to know the scent is in that area then little by little take the pad closer and closer to the back door and then like the other lady said just put the pad out on the deck and little by little take away the bed and she will end up going outside just to suggestion

Yes, I did see it I was holding my breath๐Ÿ˜„ Rocky is a saint most dogs with jump of the couch, it probably will take Rocky a while to warm up but I think once he does they'll be fine then you have two on the bed๐Ÿ˜‚
