Thank you Flo for your great videos! So nice to see a Vancouver girl on You Tube! I am in Keremeos now so struggle to get some ingredients particularly Sha oxing cooking wine. I miss T&T market a lot! Is there a reasonable substitute? I did try Amazon a while ago but could not find it. Stay healthy and safe you two and keep on cooking!

Canadian bacon can be peameal bacon which is part of the loin soaked in a brine solution then coated with corn meal. It is then sliced thin and pan fried. That’s from a Canadian btw

I was viewing some of your older video's and was so happy to hear about your faith, love, expectancy, and patience when opening up to God's grace. I see why now you and Dude are so humble and joyful. Thank you.

Hi . I am new to your channel and I love what I am seeing. I just watch one video were a woman say that it isn't easy to understand you. I never like to write a negative coment but that woman o men must be crazy, racist o jealous. You don't have and accent. Just ignore the people that is fast to offer criticisms. I have an accent and my English writing is not perfect….so what!!!! Keep teaching us, to enjoy your cooking.

Wow dude grew up in Malaysia? You should totally do some Malaysian dishes on this channel! I so see hainanese chicken rice and chicken satay. But perhaps some curries (rendang, chicken curry?).

Ok, where do you get white pepper? Seriously, I look every once in a while, but have never actually found it. I looked once at the Asian market that me and my grandpa used to shop at. I used to buy most of my meat there because I found it to be better quality and cheaper than buying meat at someplace like walmart.

I've never used fresh ginger. I don't know what to do with it. 😂 I usually try to keep ginger paste in my fridge for frying rice.

I am Cantonese, I believe the Cantonese style of flavoring allows for the entire family to adjust to each individual’s preference, for instance, not too salty for Grandma, and Jr. can always add more soy sauce, or Dude can add some Saracha sauce.

In Toronto, I have never seen Canadian bacon. Here you can only buy "peameal bacon" or "backbacon". Also, my dad always says that the cornmeal makes the meat "soft" so I am guessing that it tenderizes as well! Great stuff and keep up the good work

This video is so current! I have followed your recipe for hot & sour soup and just love it. You and Dude (and children) are such a precious family. Your love for each other shines through in your videos. Please keep the videos coming. I do agree with Dude that "vinegary" is great!

My knowledge of cooking is exactly like yours but then when I became really interested, I took several Chinese cooking classes. I remember how my instructor would always tell us to add a pinch of baking soda to our meats as they were sauteeing to trenderize them. I still do that, Chinese or not. Thank you for this. What happened to that cute asymmetric hairstyle you had. I miss it. Love all you do.
