Good looking meal Nathan. I have had 3 types, of these rations, do not think I have tried this type. Those heaters, are awesome. I wipe the pouches down, or rinse. Like yourself, unsure of what nuclear waste, makes them work, LOL. I do the same, for U.S., MRE'S, although, most likely not needed. Meals look good, for this type of ration. Some have sides, drinks, etc. Some are , well, just rice, as you know. I have had, other picked vegetables, in this type of meal, but, not, Kim chi . If close to sour kraut, I should have no problem. All meals, are, heavy on rice, or noodles, very light, on, fruit or vegetables, in any I have tried. This one, is no exception, great review and ration. Peace, John, stay safe sir.

With the 2 "mains", that seems like a 24 hour ration. If that is the case, think of how little they get to eat to "conduct war". Almost NO protein, and just some rice or noodles with a little flavor added. One SMALL "isotonic" drink. While it might "taste" better, or have better texture than an US MRE, it doesn't come close to have the caloric content. It's the bare minimum to sustain combat operations.

Hey it's either a sauerkraut or kimchi and you're right about the gas on that stuff and is that stink if you don't hear them you definitely going to smell them after eating that stuff

the ration heaters produce hydrogen. its an exothermic reaction. it is basically splitting up the water. using the O2 to create the heat leaving the hydrogen. that is what you smell. also fun fact it is flammable. feel free to light the gas on fire
