Raymond must be one happy camper with you around to cook for him and that stew does look great and have me hungry after watching this video. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us all and may your week be great and not too busy.
I am definitely going to try this recipe. Looks wonderful. Love watching new ideas. Never cooked this before. Wayne will love this for sure. He loves beef
Like others said, never thought of meatballs in soup/stew either. Mmm, all those great root vegetables. And I love how you tied this recipe in with last week's braided breadsticks.
Thank you for all of your great recipes. I must comment that your website is a wonderful reference for cooking. The print function you use works perfectly every time unlike other sites. I print and catalog all of your recipes in a thick binder. Never's the day I don't peruse that binder for inspiration.
Turnip is my favourite as well Bonita. It looks delicious. It is to hot here in Southern Ontario for stew. But the next cool weather day, that will be dinner. Thank you so much for carrying on with our gastronomic education. I made your ham quiche and forgot to take pictures of it. But it was delicious. Have a great rest of the day and stay safe.
Good morning Bonita love your recipes. Got my first Covoid vaccine shot on Mon June 14th. I still haven't found out what's causing my pain and discomfort and bleeding but my biopsy and pap smear results came back negative. Want to wish Raymond and your son's a Very Happy Father's Day. From a huge Bonita fan in Toronto Ontario stay safe
Good afternoon Bonita and Raymond. Looks good! But it’s 37 C here a bit warm for stew. But will try it this fall/winter. Stay safe enjoy your summer Looking for cookout ideas
Just yesterday (June 19 2021) I also made a pot of soup. (Ruth O'Donnell's Portuguese kale soup from Yankee magazine of 2011 — because a neighbor gave me some of her kale. The recipe uses spicy linguica sausage, but because I don't like spicy food, I just sliced some hot dogs. The soup was delicious.) This soup also looks delicious, so the next time I make soup, I'll try this. (With all of those root vegetables, this soup would be good to serve during autumn or winter.) Thank you for all of your hard work preparing these videos. They're much appreciated. 🙂

I watched this one and dropped my spoon too – I've been cooking for most of my 72 years and never thought to use meatballs in a stew. Thanks for the great idea! I'd make my gravy a bit thicker, but that's why they make flour or corn starch. Here in the States for generations we've used 'Kitchen Bouquet' as our gravy browning concentrate. I was thinking it would benefit from a nice homemade bread or drop dumplings and there you went at the end of the video with those fantastic braided beadsticks. ALWAYS a winner.

Wonderful stew love the meat balls. .
what a wonderful recipe, i bet it tastes better than it looks.
I also am very fond of turnip (rutabaga) Bonita and parsnips are very under-rated. Cream of parsnip soup, use rutabaga to make pumpkin pie xxxx
