Hello Cheryl, I'm new to your channel and I'm really enjoying your meals of the week.
Thank you for sharing x
The Orecchietti (pronounced OraKetti) is often used in a classic Italian dish, don't know the name. Saute ground sweet not hot Italian pork sausage meat (ground pork sausage with fennel seeds) and onions, garlic. Add cooked chopped broccoli and cooked orecchietti. Serve with parm cheese. So good! Orecchietti means little ears.
Orecchiette, meaning little ears, is pronounced "or-ek-kyet-tay". Italian can get so complicated sometimes with whether c or cc is pronounced k or ch, and the ch in conchiglie (little shells) is a k!
Delicious meals as always
Wednesdays pie looks fantastic
All your food looks absolutely delicious love x
definitely trying the cheeseburger pasta bake sometime soon and I regularly do a nice cottage pie nowadays.
Might even try and make my own macaroni cheese instead of buying the mac & cheese in a box that I usually buy.
I finally tried the Cheeseburger Pasta recipe and WOW!! My family loved it! My husband said I can make it as often as I want lol.
“Some dudes trying to surf the tiny wave” 🤣🤣 Oh Cheryl that was a fun ending! Love seeing the sights as my ancestors left that land seven generations ago and I know so little. It’s so beautiful!
My dear, home cooking is some of the best food around. Love your yummy recipes always cooked from scratch! xx
All you need to know to pronounce many Italian words is that “ch” is “k”—so, “chi” is like key and “che” is like kay (like in bruschetta)
we call the swede turnips "rutabaga", and the white-purple turnips "turnips".
Hello from Philadelphia, PA! I've commented before, but I wanted to let you know what a lovely little oasis your videos are for me throughout the week. They give me great ideas for meals, and I enjoy learning about the differences between UK and US products. I think our swedes are called rutabagas, and you've inspired me to mash some up this winter. I'm a little at sea with the prep, but trusty YouTube should help me figure it out. 🙂 Thanks so much for your videos – I'll keep watching!
Ah yes, I was brought up to call the big yins turnip and the wee yins swede. My gran wouldn't of been best pleased to hear me call it the other way round. But then again, we called spring onions syboes.😊 Do they still call them syboes in Scotland?
Good luck my friend ❤👍👍👍
oh aye um coming to yours fur tea next sunday lmao 😉
Just my opinion, I will only like the videos that show JASPER 🐈 🐾 🐾 🐈 🐾 🐾 LIVE, not a photo. Im a CAT LOVER and he is the MAIN reason I watch this channel. Please dont be insulted. Hey JASPER!!!!! Glad you got him a healthy diet now 😊 My CAT eats the BEST!!!!! Ten years is not old. My CATS live to 17–18 years 😊 Indoor only ✌ Good evening 🌳 🌳 🏡 🌳 🌳 ⛈ ⛈ ☁ ☁ ☁ ☁ ☁ 🌙
Lovely meals as always, turnips are white, swedes are yellow/ orange. Different flavours too. Can’t stand turnip. Lol! 🥰🇬🇧
Everyday is comfort food day in your house. Yes, we called it turnip. I don't know if we ever had the other sort.
You seem to be a lovely person…In Canada, we called that root vegetable your speaking of, turnip years ago (1976), Toronto. One summer when I was working in an IGA grocery store, the boss came and said we have to call this "Rutabagas" now…Lol …It was the Americans who pressured us to change the historical name!
I would love we could study the origin of dishes. My dad made “Shepard’s pie” on the 70s in Portugal. We call it empadão. He did the best one I have ever eaten, all from scratch, with chouriço and pork, beef and chicken meat.
From Ontario Canada, we also grew up calling it turnip, and still do, but now they call it rutabaga in the stores. 🇨🇦
You are a marvelous cook, I love what you make for tea!!
I like your down to earth meals& receipes….cook many myself
4:25 Mashed neeps! Love them but my local shop hasn’t had them recently 😳
